The food here is not bad, but seems to be declining in quality over the years. They used to deliver, but now advertise that Grubhub does it for them. When I called last night to ask about delivery, I was rudely told that they do not have delivery.
They have two significant problems: A very rude staff and no matter what they tell you over the phone when you order a meal to go, they do not start cooking it until you have physically come in and paid for it. It is not unlikely that when you mention this to the staff, they will rudely argue about it with you, saying that you came over too soon.
I also am beginning to have some questions about the cleanliness of the place. I can only hope they get regularly inspected by the Health Department.
Why do we go back? They are very close to where we live, have moderate prices and their food is palatable. However, if you are looking for great customer service, this is not your place.. .
Update as of 1-21-19 - Once again called in advance for orange chicken to go. This time I tried to make it crystal clear that we wanted our food ready to pick up when I got there, not to start cooking it when I arrived. The lady on the phone, whose first language is clearly not English, promised that it would be ready in five minutes.
So, I waited for about 10 minutes to get there. Once again it was not even started. I walked out this time. The lady screamed at me and followed me out the door. I would have gone next door to Little Caesars, but she was making quite a scene out on the sidewalk. I finally went back inside, paid for the chicken, and left. The orange chicken itself is not bad, but the customer service...
Read moreNahhhh. You can pass on this place. Sketchy place. Sure, your normal sketchy looking Asian place with questionable business practices.
Went in, woman lounging on a dirty couch behind the counter and immediately asked: you ready? Ok. Cultural differences. No, I said. Picked up a dirty laminated menu and asked to order something. She said: no. Like, no you don’t have it? Apparently they didn’t. I pull out my credit card to pay, and she said it won’t go through. “You have debit card?” Bad vibes already, right? So, I just simply said no. She didn’t even try to run it. Asked 3 more times if I had a debit card. No, I repeated, ready to walk out. Mildly committed at this point, and she could tell. She finally tried it. My card goes through. So, clearly they don’t want to pay the credit card fees, which is fine. But really? Indicative of shady business practices or at least dishonest. If she had said they don’t want to pay fees or charged me more for the credit card fees like a lot of places do, no problem. Obviously not. I think language barrier and/or cultural differences. But not to my liking.
Food was fair. Go ahead a skip this...
Read moreLet me start off by saying that the food here is delicious. Very good food and for a decent price. With that being said, the lady working the counter is one of the most rude people I have ever come across in any form of customer service. She has a very heavy English accent and is very difficult to understand 90 percent of the time and Lord forbid you ask her to please repeat what she said because that is when she will release hell upon you. She is a master of yelling, eye-rolling and hanging up the phone on you while you ask how much the total will be and what time the food will be ready. Honestly this kind of behavior is obviously completely unacceptable and ridiculous. There is no reason for anyone to behave this way to respectful and paying customers. If you feel a certain way then maybe you should not be working in the food/customer service industry. Unless this lady magically improves her English for her own sake and ours over night, or if you speak her native language which I'm assuming is Mandarin then maybe do not come here unless you can get past the yelling, eye-rolling, phone hang-ups and otherworldly...
