PASTRAMI FALLS FLAT IN AN OTHERWISE DELIGHTFUL DELI
Memories of good times with co-workers often happened here. Located in South Bay San Diego. Very close to the 905 highway. I had not been here in a few years but the owner remembered me. She said, "Oh you used to come here on Fridays." Those were the days when I thought lunch meetings would bring the team together and help us become more productive. Either way, I learned a lot about leadership do's and dont's. My go to were the BLTA and Turkey and avocado sandwiches. Both were good.
PASTRAMI SANDWICH HYPE Since there's been a lot of hype about the pastrami sandwiches, I decided to come here and try it. I love the smokey saltiness with juicy dill pickles. The sandwich was topped with more meat than fixins' -winning. I had two extra pickles - winning. And the toasted sourdough bread was perfect! All complemented with mesquite kettle chips. Oh how a fountain drink would top this off. But there were only cans so I drove 2 miles away to make sure I had a good fountain orange soda. Oh yes I'm serious. I want to dig in this.
To my dismay, the pastrami was flat. Lean meat with no flavor. My infamous French grey sea couldn't save the flavor. Dratz. I will return back to what I know is delicious. I'm certain if I had taken my sandwich back they would have replaced it but I paid for what I ordered and that's part of the honor system.
HIGH FIVES Service is still top notch. Because they love customers and they love serving us with delicious food. Reasonably priced whole sandwich $9ish half sandwich $6ish Menu explained even if you're looking at it (they want you to be happy) Limited Inside and outside seating
NEED TO KNOW Cash only no cards or phone pay Parking is limited because it's shared with other businesses and more limited during lunch time Closes at 3:00 PM on Friday

Read moreI made a special trip last month to see this store after checking out this location for literally several years!I called in my order due to the fact that I had a consultation to reach. I remained in the mood for a Sandwich or Pastrami, so I got both the New Yorker as well as the Male Handler, at $7.75 each I assume ... I understood I just had $16 money, as well as I asked the lady if that would certainly suffice, because I had read this was a cash-only area. She stated it was enough, which it would certainly prepare in 15-20 minutes.Cool, so I make the expedition to Beyer Way from Coronado Ave, just southern eastern of the Northgate Market.Heads up, it's not really visible from the road. When you see the San Ysidro Wellness Structure, that's where you turn in. From the clientele coming as well as going, as well as the images on the wall, this area is well respected and enjoyed by police and regular individuals like me. The customer before me was choosing up an order for TWENTY sandwiches(what the heck!)and also the counter was lined with more sandwiches made to order. The proprietor, the lady that took my order, stated to me that I was as well cute when I fretted I didn't have adequate cash. She explained that in all her years there she would certainly never, as well as will never reject any person a sandwich if they didn't have sufficient cash ... Her exact words. They just won an additional consumer for life.:-RRB- This, as well as the whole ambiance, it just really felt like house here. The taste? I was not dissatisfied. The sandwiches were massive and also delicious. I ate them both, I did not share, and I am not...
Read moreI walked in here after receiving a recommendation by one of my customers in the area. I was a little absent minded upon walking in and noticing that this was a cash only establishment. I asked the nice lady at the register if it indeed was cash only just in case they could take apple pay or some other means of payment, but it truly was cash only. Not wanting to waste time I asked if there was an ATM in the area, so that I could ensure I could come back to pay. But the lady refused to let me leave, saying she would not let me go out that door hungry and told me to simply pay upon my next time in the area. I protested, telling her I live on the other side of the county and rarely come to the south county. Still she stood by her offer and told me to order. I thanked her and tried to order a small half deli ham sandwich and she told me to go big and suggested their specialty sandwich the Man-Eater. I thanked her again so much and enjoyed every bite of my food. I will ensure I come back as soon as possible to pay this deserving business back for their kindness and order much more delicious food. Thank you Beyer Deli for looking out for a...
