I have eaten here several times now, and LOVE the food. We love it so much we decided to use BFD to cater my sons first birthday party... And let me tell you, everything was perfect! Thank you BFD. The sandwiches, salad, and cookies were amazing (I even had to hide a cookie for myself because the were devoured so quickly)! They were delivered on time to my home and that made things SO easy. Everyone we worked with was friendly and helpful. The amount we ordered was perfect for our very large gathering and I had lots of help deciding how many sandwiches and salads to get. The recommendations were spot on! We were also able to order grilled cheese for the kiddos (this was a suggestion they made as its not on their regular catering menu, and I am so glad we had these!). These were a major hit with kids and adults alike (and they held up so well thought the party). This was a large party and everyone raved about the food (I wish I could have taken some of the credit.. but it was all you!!) My experience with Big Front Door was above and beyond what I could have expected. Thank you so much! We will be looking to you for all of our future...
Read moreThere’s not a better place in San Diego to get a sandwich, PERIOD. From the house smoked meats to the carefully thought out and composed riffs on classics, you absolutely get your money’s worth when you walk thru the “Big Front Door.” My favorite sandwich is the “B3,” Blackened Chicken breast, roasted Brussels sprouts, Brie, aioli and Honey Dijon on a ciabatta roll. First off, the sandwich is a MONSTER but most importantly, everything about it just. WORKS! The flavors and textures, the ratio of meat to other ingredients and not feeling that anything was thrown in as “filler” make this my favorite sandwich.
Don’t sleep on their new breakfast sandwiches either, I’m all about the “Durango,” pulled pork with fluffy eggs, jack cheese, avocado, corn salsa, cilantro and “Ranchero” sauce. My only problem with it is that I wanna go back to bed...
Read moreMeh. It’s a novel collection of sandwiches. But the ingredients are mostly cookie cutter, mass food processing quality. Don’t get me wrong, they make some good combinations and some parts are fresh, but most taste like mass produced Ingredients. That was disappointing for $23. Sonoran Chicken sandwich, potato salad and a draft beer. With minimal tip. Whole Foods has better sandwiches. For less. Subway at least makes fresh baked bread. This was clearly pulled out of bag. Chicken was either made much earlier or Tyson pieces mixed with some fresh veggies, processed sauces. If these were all in house, organic, made fresh with bread baked in house, the cost with the unique flavor combos would be well worth it. But not...
