Best breakfast dining hall on campus. Hands down. If you’re a regular, you will get noticed. Best to come right when it opens or before 9:00 am (rush hour). Also fine for lunch too. Lots of options and they account for holidays as well. Was closed for renovations last spring quarter but should look a lot nicer now. Definitely give it a shot if you haven’t already!

Grilled cheese and fries a good combo, 9/10 times is perfect, sometimes the cheese is not very melted.

Came here for the first time tonight, and never again. For some so-called waste reducing protocols, I had to eat my food from a plastic container that had been eaten from by someone else already. It was disgusting and on top of that. They just handed me the Tupperware of food and mind you, my dorm is 1.5 miles away. I came on my bicycle and ended up having nowhere to put this food, I asked for a bag, and they don't offer that because, god forbid, that would be wasteful. not 1 bad in that establishment.

I don't think that they realize that by doing cr*p like this, they're implying that STUDENTS are the ones who're the waste. I wasn't even worth a bag to put my 2 containets of 30$ worth of food in to carry over a mile away, Im not even worth a clean tray for food or a clean container for food. A bag and being served in a single use container is worth more than making sure that students are comfortable. We pay so much money here to be treated like scavengers. This is the FOOD WE EAT.

So I finally made it back to my dorm with my food upside down all over itself cause i was biking with it in my arms, and it was all completely wet from condensation. For over an hour, I couldn't even look at the food because it smelled like a public restroom. So foul. Finally I got hungry enough to open the container that contained corn bread (still havent opened the chicken mac n cheese), and I can not explain to you, the putrid awful smell from this cornbread IT'S CORNBREAD. Can't get simpler. I chucked it in the trash can immediately, and there goes my money and my appetite.

Afterward, I tried to wash the cornbresd container, and no matter how many times I rubbed it down with dish soap and boiling hot water, it still smelled like old musty food.

I CANNOT believe I was served food in reusable plastic tupperware from someone else tonight. Yall are competing with prison. "Commercial dishwasher" means nothing to me when you're serving and reserving meat inside PLASTIC tupperware. And do you know how unhygienic that is???

And they only recommend a light rinse (if you have the time) before returning these boxes! so people could really have them in their cars or in their dorms for MONTHS with food residue inside, and then you will get the same container with your fresh food inside. disgusting....

My first impression of the exterior and interior of the dining hall was, "wow that's very nice". The food however, is mediocre, overpriced, overcooked and sometimes undercooked. The pizzas are not fresh daily, you can tell by the taste that they have been reused from the day before. The dining hall from what I heard from a friend that works there, barely passed the health inspection. The dining hall allegedly suffered from cross contamination in the meats, so vegans and vegetarians beware. Furthermore, the burgers are incredibly bland. I either receive a bland overcooked burger or a bland undercooked burger that when I bite into it tastes like oily mush. The fries that accompany it are decent, the ones that come with the asada fries are better. I don't know why chefs or students don't season their meats like they would the fries. Breakfast is boring, the sausage in the breakfast burritos are incredibly salty. To top it off the chopped up sausage is old leftover sausage from the morning before. The fruit is decent, also bland at times. I don't know how people would feel about knowing that allot of their fruits and vegetables are washed with antifungals. Nonetheless,...

The crispy chicken sandwich is like the Spotify premium of your highschool chicken sandwich. I be scarfin down that godsend 24/7. Global got some cool dishes that will give you that feeling of a white mom that just discovered the spice drawer. Impinger's pasta bowls never miss as well. The seating area is pretty cool, with a raised middle section in case you want to lord over your peers as you slave away at MMW. Overall, I know it ain't the best dining hall at UCSD, but I rep cafe...
