This is a cool trail. It does get quite involved at the end, it's a little dusty, but you can see a lot even if you just stay at the beginning part or go halfway or all the way. People doing the last part are leaning against the sandy wall to slide down the steep ravine so many people take it on and we turned back. No matter your time or distance on this trail you get to see some beautiful nature that's very rare to have right there without a long drive or commitment to a national park. As is so much of California's beauty along the coast there are athletic and outdoor relaxing adventures with some true beauty. Check the trail out or go for it. The whole area is very high quality with lots of options. For you g surfers for athletic sportsters or simply zen walkers who want to stroll and see some 10/10 nature or architecture of the nearby mansions. Neighbors are friendly the energy of the space there are surrounding is top notch so try it out take a stroll in this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis hike is very technical and scary if youāre terrified of heights but worth the trek and adventure! You need hiking shoes with grip otherwise with sneakers or flip flops you will risk sliding and slipping... where you canāt afford any errors! I slipped on the creek but muddy hands to catch my fall were the least of my worries! We heard helicopters the night before during our dinner at Estancia and our server said theyāre probably rescuing stranded hikers in the cliffs... we realized the next day during this hike what our server was talking about and I thought to myself oh goodness I hope I donāt have to be rescued! We probably wouldnāt have taken this route to Blackās Beach had we known or the read description in alltrails... but once in half way we had to finish! Thereās another trail south by the glider launch we would take down next time... Iām glad we made it and for once I actually felt my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am almost 72 years old and in pretty good shape. I did this with my adult son about two years ago and I was terrified half way down where there is no where to go but walk sideways on slippery sandstone rocks. I was sure I would not make it. My son talked me through this part and I made it, and we walked back up the fire road. I vowed to never do this again. Back in SD, my son said that due to so many airlifts later, they actually built a better path on the 30 foot abyss part. So, this morning I reluctantly went out with him and my husband, and conquered it with their help! I found it less harrowing but still needed the their support. So, go for it. If I can do it, you can too but remember good shoes and go with other able hikers. We returned on the northern most route beyond the steps up a steep ravine but that was more navigable than going back up the Hoh...
