Ok, let me start off by saying that I leave reviews when I'm really, really disappointed. Mild disappointment = no review, not worthwhile my time. Now, this deserves a review, so guess what's my experience? Here it is: espresso has to be offered in a small porcelan cup, not huge pour-over cup! if you don't know how to make (good) coffee (e.g. espresso, cappuccino, etc), don't offer it in your menu! their espresso and cappuccino sucked big time! Had absolutely nothing to do with the art of coffee making. Neither presentation nor taste nor quality - nothing! Not offering small stainless steel spoons either - seriously?? Food very mediocre. Soup of the day more like a meal than soup - more flour than water! Omelette primarily eggs with little to no other ingredients like vegetables. Long lines and not allowing to get a table prior to order. They give you a number, BUT they expect you to monitor the yelling for your number, cause otherwise a) your food stays somewhere and when you realize or someone accidentally brings it to you, it's cold and b) your coffee has the same destiny, so when it arrives to you for consumption, it's terrible (yep, espresso cannot just sit after being made, especially in a huge cup with huge surface area!!!) Many tables, crowded by people, noisy, but they have one (ONE) restroom for everyone! Seriously?!? A huge restroom line that you spent like 10-20+ mins just waiting! Vibe of the place is more like a fast-food rush restaurant with no particular coziness, cleanliness and attention to design detail (yep, soulless contemporary design with random first-come, first-serve dirty tables doesn't count) Indoor window screens like never touched - extremely dirty, barely can see through them! Etc.
Overall, the view is worthless when it provides a terrible experience. I can have the same or better view in a park with my bring-your-own-food picnic box. I don't come to just eat because I can eat at any other place - I come for the experience, for the smooth, elegant way to consume quality coffee ☕, for the good accompanying food, for the vibe and atmosphere, for the feel of respectful social engagement. None was good! In fact, it was terrible.
Never ever coming back! Spreading the disappointment to my...
Read moreI gave this place multiple tries before writing this review, since I'm staying in the area and I keep coming back for the yummy breakfast and amazing view. The first time I went was packed because of 4th of July so I wanted to see what they were like during a better time. They weren't bad, but they were definitely a little overwhelmed and a couple of the workers were a little short with people. Although they are less crowded, they still are slow at cleaning the tables in between customers, and I end up having to stand and wait every time for my table to be cleared before I can sit. There's a lady who comes around and cleans, but I've only seen her once or twice out of the many times I've gone. Today, I even had my food arrive before the table I chose was cleaned off. Overall, I think the food is pretty good and the view/atmosphere is fantastic - plus it is close to where I'm staying. However, I don't think I will be coming back anymore because of some rude service I've experienced and seen others have. First off they have a lot of weird rules - such as you can't switch tables, and, when I went with my boyfriend after I had already eaten breakfast there, he got a meal and I just got a coffee and we ordered separately. They wouldn't let me have my coffee to stay because I didn't get a full meal with it, even though I was sitting with my boyfriend who was. So they gave it to me in a to-go cup which was kind of weird. They also told a man with a service dog that the dog couldn't sit in the chair next to him and that he couldn't wait at the table while the rest of his party ordered the food inside. Lastly, this morning, I still had almost half my latte left after eating and was reading by myself and a lady came and told me I had to leave so that they could rotate the tables. I understand this if I was long finished with my drink and they needed the table, but there were multiple tables and even an entire big bench table available. This was the last chance I'll give them, since there are much better places with much nicer service around such as Pinpoint Cafe, where you can also still see the beach. A lot of the younger workers are nice, but I refuse to keep paying this much for rudeness. Also, there is ALWAYS a line for...
Read more1 star is generous just for the views. Other than that, food is OK, service is not great…they need to be more hospitable, insane hard to get parking and bathroom is just insane. I very rarely say or leave 1 star review. But this time, I’m very disappointed with how we were treated here. We parked FAR since it’s only street parking. We were excited due to online hype and seeing the beautiful ocean view while eating, however it’s not really what we expected. First of all, we got in, no greetings just we were expected to figure it out in a long line of customers. We had to figure out where the actual menu was, it was kinda weird. But that’s ok. Worse, We needed to go box and since we aren’t familiar with this place or where things are placed, we asked for 1 kindly and the cashier guy just pointed like “uh um there” in a very rude condescending way. Like? What was that attitude for? You know what? It’s so easy to be kind. It’s free to be kind and be helpful. It’s human decency. However if you work here, please show kindness too regardless of who the person is. For a busy restaurant it’s actually hard to believe why this place only has 1 bathroom and no changing table. It’s quite honestly disgusting and unsanitary. I know it’s a college area but many families go here. The high chairs almost have no proper buckles. Only 1 worked well for the a lot of the high chairs. Like why have a high chair but no changing table? No biggie though but for how popular this restaurant is with families coming, please have the decency to offer changing table, it would greatly help. Bathroom was just dirty and small. There was a LONG line and I waited over 15 minutes just to be very disappointed because there is no changing table for change diapers. Food is ok and the coffee was just BAD, it tasted like watered down hotel coffee……pricey for something so bad…. Despite our not so go good experience, the view is just beautiful!!. I only recommend this place because of the views but if you’re in for the overall experience, this is not family friendly to be quite honest. It’s great for friends or small group. Other than that, not great for families. It is just overhyped but...
