"Old but Gold: A Visit to Kellogg Park at La Jolla Shores"

Kellogg Park, nestled in the scenic La Jolla Shores of San Diego, is a testament to the timeless joy playgrounds bring to children. Despite the playground equipment showing its age, being at least two decades old, it stands remarkably well-maintained, a clear reflection of care despite the relentless ocean weather it faces.

The joy and laughter of children playing are proof of the playground's enduring appeal. While an update might enhance its aesthetics and functionality, the current setup doesn't seem to hinder the fun. The location of Kellogg Park, right on the beach, elevates the whole experience, blending playtime with the natural beauty of the shore.

Apart from the playground, Kellogg Park offers more than just swings and slides. It's a prime spot for witnessing some of the most beautiful sunsets, with the ocean horizon painting a vibrant backdrop that captivates both the young and the old. This picturesque setting makes it an ideal location for families seeking a day filled with fun, nature, and tranquility.

In summary, Kellogg Park at La Jolla Shores may boast equipment from yesteryears, but its charm and the sheer joy it brings to children remain unaffected. With its stunning beachside location and breathtaking sunsets, it provides a very positive experience that calls for a return visit. A little update could bring a fresh vibe to the playground, yet even as it stands, Kellogg Park is a beloved gem for...

This park in San Diego is undoubtedly my favorite. It boasts breathtaking views and a captivating atmosphere that entices you to stay for an eternity. What truly sets it apart is its incredible beachside vibe, which I absolutely adore. Whenever I visit, I make sure to bring along my beach essentials, as it perfectly complements the park's ambiance.

Not only does this park offer stunning views, but it also provides a variety of amenities to enhance your experience. It features a well-designed play structure for children to enjoy and a spacious grassy area where you can set up and relax. Whether you're looking to have a picnic, play games, or simply soak up the sun, this park offers ample space for all your needs.

Additionally, the park is well-equipped with plenty of clean and conveniently located bathrooms, ensuring that your visit is comfortable and convenient. With its combination of scenic beauty, beach-inspired atmosphere, and excellent amenities, this park has become my go-to destination for enjoyment and relaxation...

This park was such a great area that’s not too crowded! The beach was nice the day i went the water was cold but the sand being warm made it perfect! I went with a group of friends and we played spike ball and jumped in the ocean to cool down! It’s definitely family friendly there are showers next to the outdoor bathrooms and there was a very friendly maintenance man. He did such a great job cleaning the restrooms and directing people to which ones were open! You can do birthday parties here kick back with family and friends! The lifeguards did a great job of guiding people where they can surf or boogie board! There was also a van that rented out surf furs bodysuits for people that want to surf and don’t have a bodysuit, which i think is super cool! It was such a clean environment! I would defiantly come back here again the only downside would be...

One of my favorite parks in San Diego! Beautiful little playground, clean (flushable) public bathrooms, rinse showers, lifeguard, and La Jolla Shores is a great beach. Oh, and a free parking lot! Get there early though for parking. My favorite time is 7am; get set up in the park or on the beach, and leave by 1pm when it’s hot. Kids love Kellogg Park! Places to eat within walking distance if you don’t pack any food to bring. Some picnic tables at the park, or bring blankets. Dog friendly, although we always leave ours at home. We’ve been going to this park for over 25 yrs. Also love seeing the surfers on the water from the park.

This playground is probably one of the best in the area, especially considering that La Jolla is all about beaches, so playgrounds are quite rare here. It offers a variety of attractions for kids of all ages, including a sandpit, swings, and structures for little kids and bigger kids. The location is convenient, close to restrooms and restaurants. However, parking can be incredibly difficult to find, and the line to the restroom can get extremely long.
