C's Ice Cream & Deli — Restaurant in San Diego

A quaint shop tucked in a small almost hidden strip mall, i wish it had visibility from the main road so people can see it otherwise this place is perfect, atmosphere is that of a malt shop, a large selection of glass bottled sodas and refreshments which makes you want to drink some, they currently are selling dubai chocolates which are pretty popular and are limited time they also have Easter themed pastries/ candies for sale. Got a build your own black forest ham, french bun sandwich with everything on it plus pepper jack cheese, also added picked peppers and a large classic malted chocolate shake; all just under a 20 dollar bill, sandwiches come with a pickle spear on the side. The shake was perfectly measured out to fill just to the top of the cup, classic tasting too, would love to have a larger version though but thats just me, 5 out of 5 milkshake, will return again, picture contains only the empty cup so i cant really show it. Sandwhich is nice and filled and does not fall apart, all in all decent, a solid 8 out of 10 or a 4 out of 5. Inside is a tad warm for april but the ac began kicking in so not too sure how comfy it would be if you dined in, likewise, i would love to live near here otherwise it would be my go to shop for malted shakes and the occasional sandwhich. Menu design could use work and is hard to read, they will give you a pink hand held menu instead. It seems like only one person is working at a given time which is why they close at 4, dont expect it to be fast but not too slow either, they were quick getting the sandwhich and shake done for one person, he was friendly...

I ordered the roast beef sandwich and a bowl of chili, and both hit the mark. The roast beef was sliced just right — tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. No gimmicks, just a really well-made sandwich. The chili surprised me. It had depth — a rich, hearty base with just the right amount of spice and a homemade feel you don’t always get at a deli.

The staff? Super attentive without being overbearing. You can tell they enjoy being there, and that energy carries into the food and the whole experience.

First off I love this place I've never ordered a sandwich I didn't like. The quality of the sandwiches they serve are top notch, this is one of the best sandwich shops I've ever had the pleasure of eating at. Their ice cream is also really good, I love how they have an assortment of rootbeers and sodas to choose from. You can tell the staff and owner really care about the customers and they want to give you the best experience every time you visit. If you're expecting some humongous sub this isn't the place for you go to a sub chain for that this place is all about quality and to me you shouldn't be gorging large amounts of food any ways, so for me the sandwiches here are...
