Mostly good food, absolutely ruined by terrible, inattentive service.
Positives: Masala and BBQ wings and sweet potato fries were flavorful and crispy, and the two salads that arrived on time looked nice. Beer selection is decent for the location.
Negatives: Oh so many to list, let's begin. We waited over an hour and half with zero communication from our server for only 1/3 of our food to be delivered. Our pizzas never arrived, and the third salad had frozen, tasteless chicken. The hot chicken sandwich was an awkwardly breaded cutlet crudely chopped into an unnatural square with almost no sauce and was soggy as a rag from the dish pit.
After being abandoned by our server, who we saw about twice in total, we were rescued by the bartender, but only after asking him to check on our order. He was great and did his best to salvage the situation, but we still ended up leaving after a long wait without the rest of our order.
We've eaten here before and service has been slow but the food usually good, but never like this. This was bad enough that we will never come back here. As people that work in the hospitality industry, we're understanding and forgiving of the things that can go wrong in the back and front of the house that negatively impact the guest experience, hence why I tend to not leave a review at all rather than a negative one. However, in this case a negative review is warranted in the hopes that this doesn't happen to other guests. If you're having problems with service, communicate those issues to your guests in a timely manner and mitigate and perform service recovery.
If there was a front of house manager, they were invisible. We were surprised that all the food didn't taste smoked since the kitchen must have been going down in flames.
Separately, just increase your prices if you're going to pass along your increased product and labor costs to your customers, don't add a 1.5% surcharge for COVID-19. We're all paying more these days, not just your business. I wonder how much of that cost increase is going towards your one hard working employee, or is it just going into...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe positives: -Got a table immediately -Reasonable prices on food & drinks -Your food will come out very hot -The decor was nice (albeit very generic for a gastro pub) -The onion rings were delicious
The Negatives: -Never offered water, while we watched other tables be given it as soon as they sat down -The food was extremely hot, but only because they were brought out as each dish was done being cooked, rather than altogether. Felt like everything was just being cooked one at a time -None of my food came out until about 10mins after my boyfriend's -When drinks were ordered, we asked for french fries as an appetizer, but those didn't come until AFTER my boyfriend's entree had arrived, and before mine did. -The French fries were no better than subpar bowling alley food -Second beer was ordered, but never brought out, so I didn't have a drink at all for quite some time- not ideal when you're eating salty food. 15 mins after ordering, I was asked if I still wanted my beer, to which I declined because I was fed up with waiting -The service was horrendous; it was impossible to ask for anything, much less water, or a box, or even the check -The manager sucked too- he was walking around to every other table asking how everything was, my boyfriend tried to flag him down from the table next to us, to ask for a box, and he didn't even acknowledge we were there despite literally facing our direction, 5 feet away -The menu is so bizarre. Indian-fusion gastro pub? If you're going to do that, do traditional gastro pub food with an Indian flare. This was just a strange mix of food in general with an Indian fusion.
This place is likely just temporary though. This location has been owned by the same people for years who just keep changing out the restaurant concept every so often instead of taking the time to improve what's there. So it makes sense that they seem to have issues with bringing their vision to fruition.
But yeah, to sum it up, most definitely not coming back. And I won't be upset when it's gone in 6 months when they try something...

One thing to note is that the wait times for food orders can be a bit lengthy. However, the waitstaff at Restaurant District 6 is incredibly friendly and goes above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is enjoyable. In fact, their exceptional service truly shines as they strive to make your wait as comfortable as possible. On a recent visit, I experienced a slight delay in receiving my order, but the waiters were so attentive that they kindly offered two complimentary dishes to make up for the extra wait. This level of generosity and customer care is commendable and sets Restaurant District 6 apart from others.
