I went to try this place out on saturday 3/26/22, can't complain about the shrimp cocktail, it was really good the chipotle sauce was really tasty and not too spicy, well served and good size, my lower rating was based on the issue that the prices on the menu are not the correct prizes, in the menu it states the large cocktail is $20 it's not right, it's actually $21 and pretty much all the other prices on the menu are the same I would say a $1 more, except for the drinks that very conveniently don't even have a price but expect to pay at least $2.50 for any drink also my biggest issue is that it has become a norm in local mexican places especially in Logan heights that accept credit cards but take advantage of the customers by charging an extra fee for using the credit cards, in this place it's $1, I've seen places charge 25 cents others 50 cents, which isn't too bad, but a $1 it's kinda of outrageous IMO especially when you are already paying $21+ with taxes for a shrimp cocktail and they are also charging an extra $1 like if they aren't making enough profit from selling that 1 cup of cocktail. Businesses gotta pay the credit card companies about 1-3% of whatever the total of transaction is, so by doing basic math in my purchase of $22 multiplied by 3% its 66 cents, is the food good? Yes! Do I think it's worth $22? No, especially not that $1 extra fee to pay with a credit card, I decided to just pay cash but either way I've been to other restaurants that serve comparable sized and as good tasting cocktails for $15, also I mentioned I paid $22 cash, if I would of paid with my credit card I would of been $23+. So again food was good prices was a...
Read moreBeware of the taco size! For some reason, maybe because I was really excited to try Ferchaladas... i forgot to check or ask for their tortilla size. Isn't it funny, that this has become a must before ordering tacos? I need to know what size tortilla you got, to order accordingly lol To my surprise the tortilla was a regular size and thick as they come tortilla (tmi) Moving on.. I went straight for the Octopus Taco. That taco was epic! I got down and dirty with it. My napkin was not ready for this taco. The flavor, the juice, the mess lol wait, I know most do not desire to eat octopus. Why!!? Simply bc most places don't know how to cook octopus. There, I said it. Well this taco was delicious, periodt. Next taco... the Birria taco with the consome. I avoided the tortilla and went full force in for the meat + consome. Honestly, I felt defeated. I couldn't finish it. I was full. Food is not just good looking, it's packed with flavors and the quality/freshness is not questionable. . Ya'll I ate all of this in front of my boss. We had an impromptu meeting. He enjoyed the food himself. We're going to keep coming back and try each item on their menu. Guaranteed. Thanks to Xochitl and Fernando for the...
Read moreI've always been in a hunt for some really good Mariscos, I've had some down south in Chula Vista.I've had some up north in L.A. Fercheladas caught my attention from a friend I follow on Instagram and he couldn't stop giving praise to this spot so I had to give it a shot. My friend and I pulled an saw the wide variety on the menu and instantly had my mouth watering for the Tamarindo ceviche, shrimp cocktail and couldn't resist but to order the birra tacos. Tamarindo is by far my favorite flavor and mixing that with seafood satisfied all my taste buds. The tostadas were probably the only ones that had me thinking of a different brand to choose or made with a softer crunch but that did not stop me from enjoying my food. Portions were perfectly served and on point. Birra tacos flavor and well done tortillas matched to perfection. Had a sangria soda on the side to wash it all down. I honestly haven't been satisfied with a big smile on my face after leaving a restaurant that great. I will forever be a customer and recommend Fercheladas for the best ceviche...
