Carnitas y Mariscos Las Morelianas — Restaurant in San Diego

I went In this restaurant yesterday with my family (total of 16) we were aproched by Axel our server, he right away started building a table for us outside he was very attentive ,we started by ordering drinks, our drinks came out right away, once we ordered food, the food came out after 30 minutes,we started eating our food , then noticed my son didn't get his taco de asada with guacamole, then my husband who had gotten -(a sope de carne asada & a sope de Adobada-) he started bitting into it and told me he didn't like the sope , that it wasnt fresh, it was cold and it seem like the crust was refried, I get up go inside the restaurant and tell our server Axel what was going on ,hand him the plate, I told him politely that the sopes weren't fresh and were cold if we can just get a quesadilla de asada instead he said -sorry about that I'll bring it out to you..after 15min or so Axel came out to the table and told us that the he was fighting with the cook Omar because he didn't want to replace my order for the quesadillas the cook OMAR ordered Axel to only take it off the ticket but not replace my food. When he came out and made us aware of what was going on I immediately asked for the check, and asked Axel to remove the sopes that my husband got or the taco that my son never got from the check and requested to speak to the owner. Axel removed the items from our check ,print it out and brought it to your table, right behind him was the cook Omar, approaching me by asking if I was the one who had returned the sopes, I told him yes it was me. He said do you mind me asking what was wrong with them?( With a sarcastic face on) I told him they weren't fresh , they were cold and were refried. He had the audacity to tell me "sometimes it can just be on a certain piece of the sope, that we were suppose to keep eating it". I completely stopped him there and told me " I work for this big restaurant as a LEAD dealing with customers and if my husband within the first bite didn't like it or realized the food we are paying for is no good I will return it.. He then said WE are here to see how we can help you, and I told him what do you do you mean WE? I have no issue with Axel , I know Axel is doing his job , The issue here is you the cook, if you really wanted to satisfy a customer why not replace it with the carne asada quesadilla that my husband was asking for.he said "ma'am you don't have the same composure as I do!? Well no I don't, you know why? While you are in the kitchen eating all you want my husband hasn't ate, our check is more than 200$ and you are making it a big deal over a mistake you made, we don't want anything free. Let me remind you that we were already at the table for almost an hour Without my husband eating..I straight up told Omar I have no business talking to you, you aren't hear to make things better, you heard I asked to speak to the owner or supervisor and you come out.. My brother and I go there for happy hour once or even twice a week, but best believe we are never stepping foot in there again. And if the owner Darian ever reads this, I did call the restaurant just now and left my information with the lady that answered the phone. The attitude and the way the cook Omar acted yesterday 1/31/2020 was beyond disrespectful, no idea what it is to work in customer service, and my family questions why he is even there?. He came out with an attitude that I was wrong as costumer and not him. And if Darian you have any questions or concerns about the situation you can ask Axel he will confirm our visit. Thank you for your time. With that cook Omar that you have best believe you will keep loosing clients.. NEVER COMING...

I had been going to this place for a couple of months, maybe a total of 4 times in all. The first couple if times customer service was ok. The last 2 or 3 times I returned to this place customer service was TERRIBLE! we sat down, myself wife and 3 kids, we noticed we din't get acknowledge at all, other people that came way after we sat down were getting attended as soon as they came in. I guess they were regulars or just well known people. Nevertheless I had to get up an actually walk to the cashier to order my food for me and my family! The waitress never bothered to ask if everything was ok, never even looked our way! We keep going to this place because Onestly the food has good taste.

The last time I walked up to the cashier he charged me $78.67 !! Yes I automatically reacted and my wife and I went through every item that was order. And turned to be $47.56..a little different I would say. As he takes the correct amount after doing the math for him, (with out any apologie ) I slightly turn to the right and a pregnant German ROACH is slowly crawling down from the wall! ! DISGUSTING! ! as my stomach turned and I pointed out the gross bug to the guy he looks at me and doesn't not say a word! And hands my change. I grabbed my receipt and crush the nasty roach and pointed out to him and again the dude just sitts there motionless! ! I grabbed my kids and rush oUT of that join never to return again! .....so if if you like ok food I guess and don't mind ROACHES! this would be a place to visit! ...My wife and I calm down slightly and discuss and wonder how many roaches we probably ate in the pass or better yet how much ROACH and ficcul matter is consumer in a Nast ! Place...

If you have not eaten at "Las Morelianas" or in Morelia Mexico, the state capital of Carnitas in all of Mexico, you have not had authentic carnitas cooked the old fashion way. This is the only place in San Diego for real carnitas. I first discovered them at the Farmer's Market on Imperial avenue several years ago before it closed down. Back then, it was just a stand inside the Farmer's Market and all they sold was Carnitas and freshly made Chicharron. Once they closed they opened at this location. There are no better carnitas in San Diego, then here. They are made fresh daily along with authentic Chicharron. There beans with freshly made Chicharron are also my favorite. They also provide excellent customer service. If you order to go, they will give you a free carnitas taco while you wait. I highly recommend this place. You...
