I don't think I've ever left a review for anything. I'm just not that guy but Jeong Wons is by far my favorite Korean bbq and definitely in my top restaurants in San Diego. The owner is one the most genuinely kind people you will ever meet. All of the marinades are made in house from her own personal recipes and as odd as it may sound the potato salad is the best I've ever had. This may not sound like much coming from a random San Diegan but I just came back from being stationed in Camp Humphreys in Pyeongataek South Korea. I made it a point to try tons of food in particular Korean bbq because Jeong Won had left me with such a great impression of what Korean food would be like. There are many great places in S. Korea like Dinomeat, Sododuk, Kims cook, Hwas Hwas etc.. but honestly none of them compare to Jeong Wons. From the quality of meat, to all of the sauces, marinades, vegetable pancakes and of course incredible potato salad to the service. The place is always incredibly clean and the precautions they have taken to assure customer health and safety during all this covid madness are second to none. I was very impressed. The servers are very attentive, friendly and are quick to help with any accommodation. I can honestly say that Jeong Won is by far the best Korean bbq I've ever had and there are some definite hitters in Korea but I always find myself craving Jeong Won. The beef short rib, pork belly, bacon and rib eye are incredibly delicious. The chili sauce is perfection. The lettuce is always fresh, crisp and cold. All of the vegetables are fresh and great tasting. The rice is always fresh, never burnt and always nice and hot. All you can eat buffet style for $25 yeah there's no comparison. I know it isn't "traditional" Korean bbq ... Jeong Won still gives you the options that a "traditonal" Korean bbq place would offer and even then Jeong Won is at the top of the list. It's one of my wife and my's favorite places to eat and I'm incredible glad and grateful that they were able to stay open despite of everything that has happened. I can go on for days about this place and how great they are. Thank...
Read moreMy husband and I have been loyal customers of Jeong Won Korean BBQ for years, and we've witnessed the changes over time including the rise in prices. While some might see it as "pricey," there's a reason we keep coming back, time and time again: it's worth every penny.
What sets Jeong Won apart from other all-you-can-eat KBBQ spots is the freedom to customize your experience. You're not limited to pre-selected trays or wasteful portions you can get as much or as little of exactly what you want. The variety is unmatched, with an impressive spread of meats from beef and poultry to seafood, along with an abundant veggie and side section that always hits the spot.
The ambiance is warm, cozy, and inviting. I especially love reading all the quotes on the wall it adds a personal and thoughtful touch that makes the space feel special. It's the kind of place where you want to take your time and enjoy the experience.
Customer service here is consistently excellent. Every team member is attentive, friendly, and always making sure your grill is fresh and your table has everything you need. We've never had a single complaint, and that's saying a lot.
Jeong Won is more than just a restaurant it's a place where memories are made. From casual date nights to family celebrations, this has become our go-to spot, and it always delivers. The owners should be incredibly proud of the environment they've created. It's clear that quality, hospitality, and heart are at the core of everything they do.
If you're looking for authentic, delicious Korean BBQ with great vibes and top-tier service look no further. Jeong Won will always have...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite Korean BBQ places. They don't have an abundance of meats like other places but they do have GREAT cuts of meats in Beef, Pork, Chicken and Seafood. The BEST PART...it is self serve. No waiting for the server to come by and then come back with the food. You get up and get it yourself. It is perfect for Korean BBQ.
I have been here a couple of times and the first time there was a small wait but the latest, there was no wait. We sat immediately, the server explained to us nothing has changed and he will start the grill as we get our first plates. They had marinated Wagyu beef and just Wagyu beef. These are my favorite. I do like other cuts of beef but these went real well with the lettuce they had for lettuce wrapped.
Their sides are delicious. Multiple types of Kimchi which I am a HUGE fan of. They had pickled daikon and that was so good. The bean sprouts and cucumbers were so good. All their sides were perfect our bbq experience. A LOT OF SAUCES for your Korean BBQ. Their spicy mayo was worth it on every cut of meat I had. The ginger sauce was the perfect amount of ginger for the taste.
There is a downside, parking is rough in this area but it always is in most establishments on Convoy. There is street parking around the corner that you can park at or drive in circles for a little. A parking spot usually pops open in a couple minutes but if you don't want to wait, just go ahead and leave the parking lot and park on the street.
I will always put this at the top of my list if the wife wants Korean BBQ and we can make...
