this place is HORRIBLE please keep in mind they charge a mandatory 18%tip. and do not tell you until the end. my daughter went here with her group of friends for prom and she ordered 2 all you can eats. she is only 16 years old and LOOKS only 16 years old and did not know that all you can eat was only meant for one person (which was clearly her fault) how ever, she tried to explain to the manager that they did not know and the manager screamed at her threatened to call the police on them instead of trying to help them figure it out. my daughter called me in tears and upset that this happened. i was absolutely furious and called the restaurant. the manager was extremely rude and kept lying saying that “she didn’t know they were kids” when they were all dressed for prom! the manager kept talking over me and wouldn’t allow me to speak. i told her that i would be writing a review and she said she would respond. ofcourse with an obvious lie! just be warned that this is NOT a place for kids and they forced teenagers to pay a tip and it was their first time going out together. no establishment should ever demand a tip on any party! a tip is a tip for a reason and for good customer service! not just because! we will not be coming back here again and i will be telling all my friends and family to not come back here again!
UPDATE: RESPONSE TO THE RESPONSE BELOW.
yes, your rules about 18% sure are written in the book.. VERY VERY VERY tiny, where nobody can see. thank god for this post. now everyone will ACTUALLY KNOW
THE MANAGER came up to my daughter table and stated “you all look very nice! is this graduation?” they all then replied “NO! ITS FOR OUR PROM!” you asked. they told you guys. my daughter even stated to the owner that she is only 16 and she didn’t understand.
if you all read on below the comments, you will see another customer state that they ALSO hated their experience because they TOO were getting yelled at and witnessed all the staff yelling at each other… are you sure about that?
please be honest. there is no reason to be dishonest. doesn’t not look good for your company. i am an honest reviewer. it’s my...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to this restaurant, the experience was truly disappointing right from the moment we walked in. After we were seated, my party and I patiently awaited attention for a full 30 minutes just to place our initial orders. What added to our frustration was that the waiter had acknowledged our presence from the start but deliberately chose to ignore us. Instead, they prioritized serving three other tables that had arrived after us. The level of service was so terrible that after enduring half an hour without any acknowledgment or service, we made the decision to leave the restaurant.
In addition to the frustrating service, the disappointments continued with the pricing at this restaurant. The prices here are undeniably high, yet the quality of the food simply doesn't justify those steep costs. It felt like a complete rip-off, given what we received in return. The flavors were mediocre at best, and even the soup base, which is a cornerstone of any hotpot experience, was far from exceptional.
Furthermore, despite being an all-you-can-eat hotpot, it wasn't worth waiting for another half hour just to place a second round of food orders. The excessive wait times made the whole concept of 'all you can eat' lose its appeal.
The ambiance of this hotpot restaurant was just unfriendly, unlike some other hot pot places in the Convoy area that offer fast and personable service, which can greatly enhance one's dining experience.
TLDR: my visit to this restaurant was a complete letdown on every level. From the dreadful service that left us waiting for ages to the overpriced, lackluster food, and the unfriendly ambiance, it was an experience I wouldn't wish upon anyone. There are plenty of other hot pot options in the Convoy area that offer better value, superior quality, and friendlier service. My advice: save yourself the disappointment and steer clear of this restaurant. Your time and money are better...
Read moreI have NEVER left a bad review in my whole life but this place kind of deserves it. The amount of disappointment I felt was to the likes of driving to a Chik-fil-A on Sunday - pure letdown...
We sat down at a dirty table and were directed to the open buffet where we were greeted with numerous flies lounging on the food. Trying to ignore it, we order food from the all-you-can-eat menu. Our meat and hot broth arrived quickly and we started eating. Throughout our sit-down we continuously swatted flies away but without fail they landed on every piece of raw meat and vegetable in front of us.
After managing to eat a small plate of meat before ultimately losing our appetite, we informed the waitress about the fly issue and said we were ready to leave. She then takes 15 minutes to bring us a check, allowing us time to watch the flies throw a family reunion on the buffet food.
After finally getting the check she apologizes for the experience and bills us the full amount. We then wait another 15 minutes for her to return and I politely ask her if anything can be done about the bill since we barely ate and couldn’t enjoy or eat the food due to the flies. She says “of course”. After another 10 minutes she comes back with a $10 discount on a nearly $80 bill.. My girlfriend and I had eaten only a tiny portion of meat between the two of us, but we reluctantly paid the bill and left.
Sorry for the lengthy review, this is out of my comfort zone as I never leave bad reviews. But seriously, I wouldn’t recommend coming here until the fly problem (which didn’t seem to be a priority) is resolved. If there’s an issue don’t expect an any meaningful resolution or refund, don’t expect fast service. I wouldn’t have left this review if we even got half...
