Verdict: Perfection. Nothing beats freshly pulled noodles. On top of that, the staff was extremely friendly, including the owner who helped guide us through the menu. Will definitely come back.
Top Dishes: Spicy Hot Oil Noodles, Spinach Beef Noodle Soup
Environment: As you would expect, the place has a great theme of green going on. It gives it a vibrant and welcoming vibe. The furniture is clean and the chairs are comfortable. There's also a window to see your noodles being freshly pulled.
Service: Fantastic. Servers were friendly. Even helped suggest how to properly eat some of the different dishes. The owner gave us a rundown of the menu and helped guide us to some of the best dishes!
Food: Nothing beats the chewiness of fresh noodles. Take a look at the descriptions below:
Spicy Hot Oil Noodles: We got the fattest kind of noodle and it came out great. It comes out as one long piece of noodles where you would use the scissors provided to cut it into smaller pieces. Mixing everything with the oil gave it a great taste and wasn't overwhelming. Paired with some skewers and you're good to go! Verdict: Definitely worth it.
Spinach Beef Noodle Soup: The broth flavor was refreshing and wasn't savory. The spinach noodles were nice and green and had a good freshness to it. The meat was tender and went well with the dish. Verdict: Definitely worth it.
Cold Dishes: Dried Tofu, Red Oil Potato, Cucumber: What a great starter! Everything had great flavor and worked well as an appetizer. Verdict: Definitely worth it.
Snow Beef Skewers: These paired very well with the Spicy Hot Oil Noodles. Very flavorful and came in a set of 4. Verdict: Definitely worth it.
Beef Pancake: A great side dish where the outside was nice and soft and the meat was tender. This is a nice pairing to the dishes above. Verdict: Worth it.
Mantou Chinese Bread: We love fresh bread and couldn't resist this one. It's a plain white bun but pairs very well with their cold...
Read moreNew review: We came here again for dinner! This place is my husband’s favorite Chinese restaurant in San Diego. We think here has the most authentic taste among all restaurants in SD and it literally tastes like real northern Chinese cuisine. You can see the chef is making the hand pulled noodles in the kitchen window. And their noodles are a little bit chewy and very fresh, it’s the type of Northwest Chinese food style. Everything here we tried so far is very delicious. I highly recommend their Lamb PaoMo, Xinjiang Chicken Noodles and Tea Bag Eggs. But actually, I think literally everything is very worthy to try!
Previous review: We came back here with our friends. This is a place that we always like and we wanna come back here again and again. Here’s food is super authentic and just tastes like what you eat in real China. I also love they don’t adjust the food taste to meet all other cultures peoples taste. It is authentic and nice. This time, we tried the hot chilly oil noodles, which is so yummy and hand pulled noodles are chewy and fresh.the service here is great, we really love the passion of the manager who is very helpful.
Previous: I feel like I’m back in China!!! To be honestly, this restaurant is the most authentic Chinese place I’ve ever had in San Diego. Even my husband said so too, and he has only been to China twice. It’s very authentic and delicious!!! All the foods we ordered are very well made with good and clean ingredients, you can even watch they make the hand pulled noodles through the window. I love my cold cucumber and sesame rice noodles. My husband loved his lamb skewers. Both of us loved the beef wrap the most, it’s so crispy outside. The cold dish is nice, you can pick 3 to make a combo. When my parent comes to visit, I’m sure they will...
Read moreThis Sunday I went 老地方 with great expectations since I read many good reviews online. I wrote down the good dishes recommended on the internet.
After eating I feel I have responsiblily to tell the truth to the people my feeling about this restruant. Followings are the dishes I ordered 招牌牛肉拉面: 15:99, there are almost no beef and only two piece thin beefs fload in the soup, the price should be less than $10 based the food they provided.
Cumin Flavored Chicken Rib, 8.99. all are chichen bone, no meat
Beef Pancake. 12.99. taster is OK, but price is too high for the cake like this
Lamb Hot Pot. 22.99. this are the 豆制品,蔬菜,海带 和 几片 薄羊肉 的 混合, call it POT is misleading.
Cold Dish, it is hot and sweet. taste badly. 8:99
Plus tax I paid mor than $80. I will not go this rerstruant again. This is the very stingy and expensive restruant. The price not match the quality and amount they give. Comparing all restruants I attended in San Diego this is the number two worst ( a little...
