Came here to try out their chilaquiles because the pictures look so damn good and was sorely disappointed.

Service Service started out really well. It seemed like there was only one guy running the whole place; he was taking orders, cleaning the tables, cooking, taking payment and he was managing it well since there wasn't a lot of people. The menu had printed items but the prices were handwritten on the headings. I saw chilaquiles and saw that it was reasonably priced and proceeded to order. The guy took my order and when I was about to pay, he said pay later, so I took a seat and waited for my food. Later another person came in and helped out (took orders and payments). My food arrived but the eggs were not what I ordered, so I took the plate back and told them. And the new person said "Oh ok. We won't charge you since it's our fault.". Duh? Why should I be paying for your fault? But I let the comment slide. This will come back to bite me later.

Taste Kinda bland and what's worse was the chips were so soggy that they're like wet paper. The salsa barely had any flavor but later, when the correct eggs arrived, they helped give the dish some taste.

Price/payment They charge credit card fee, but that's not the issue. The issue was they over-charge me. Instead of charging me what was listed on the menu, they charged me $7 more and so I asked why it was the case. The new person said it was the eggs, and I said $7 for eggs? And she got annoyed and gave me a whole long list of explanations that did not make sense as I just stood in silence to hear her explanations. I did not even say anything to rebut her, but she became exasperated and said "Fine fine." and charged me $5 more than listed instead of $7. Ok.... thanks? I just didn't have the strength to argue with her given that the weak ass chilaquiles still left me starving. I just wanted to get out of there and not come back...

The lady running this place has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Walked in and she was on the phone with her AirPods on talking loudly while taking orders. Couldn’t remember our order three or four times. Took forever because she was on the phone the whole time. Overcharged us for everything. Whatever, we took the food and left. My girlfriend accidentally left her jamaica on the roof of the car so we turned around to get another one. When she went in and explained what happened the lady said “why would I give you another one that’s not my fault.” Which is true even though it’s terrible customer service. However she had overcharged us like I said, so when my girlfriend mentioned that the lady replied that the prices on the menu are old prices. Which is illegal and probably a lie to be honest. And yes she was talking on the phone the whole time. To top it off the food was seriously terrible. Not just saying that. She charged us $11.99 for a bean and cheese burrito that was half the size of bennys that you can get for half the price. And bennys is all around better. Save your time and money and go to bennys. This place sucks and so does the...

I loved this place so much that I had dinner there two nights in a row. I am originally from Texas and have also been to Mexico multiple times. I recognise authentic Mexican food when I taste it. This is authentic! It is like Mama is in the kitchen preparing it just for you. I had enchaladas one night and had the Chile rellenos (which was huge and delicious) then second night. I was on a three day, two night trip and I ate there twice. Now, what do you figure that says about the place. Also, they were very friendly and inviting. The decor is a bit rustic but that kind of adds to the ambiance. I would highly recommend this place. Those places down in Old Town and in the tourist areas are higher priced and the are very crowded with tourists. This was just my style - homey and delicious and sans tourists! Plug it into your gps before you get there. You won't be sorry. Cool part...

**Five-Star Review for a Local Mexican Restaurant** Wow, the food here was amazing! When we first walked in, we had no idea what we were getting into, but we hit the jackpot. We ended up having traditional-style food for breakfast - truly a breakfast for champions! The ambiance is incredibly charming, reminiscent of a cozy, old-school Mexican spot, filled with beautiful plants that give it a homely feel like visiting my aunt's house. The service was exceptional; the guy helping us let us sample all the different sauces, which was a fantastic touch. As a huge foodie who eats everywhere in San Diego, I can confidently say this was one of the best dining experiences I've had. This place is a hidden gem you might only discover through Google or Yelp, but it's definitely worth seeking out. I'll definitely be bringing my grandma and daughter here. It's just so cute and welcoming. 10 out of 10!

The atmosphere is so nostalgic, gives you a vibe of going to Tijuana on a Saturday or Sunday as a kid. The staff is so attentive and welcoming. We had told them it was our first time and did not know if we ordered or sat down first. The lady in the register informed us of how things run there. She told us about the dishes and what she recommended. The pozole was so flavorful, the meat so tender, the seating was so cute outside we had a view of Market st. The tortillas are fresh and hand made. The regular mulita was huge, I chose pollo asado. The Aguas frescas were on point, not too watered down or overwhelmingly sweet. We were both so glad we decided to try this place out. Absolutely enjoyed it.
