Maggie's Café — Restaurant in San Diego

Terrible experience for breakfast. First, the cup of water was dirty on the bottom. (Noticed it after the first gulp!) The machaca w/ egg breakfast had 2 bone shards in it! (What the heck, machaca has no bones, so where did they come from!) The 1st time I told the waiter, he did not apologize at all, he then proceeded to take the napkin w/ the bone & said he would talk to the cook. I assumed this was a one time thing, so I continued eating, but much to my dismay, on my second bite I felt a sharp object in my mouth. Another bone! This time I got up & told the 2 waiters standing together what I found. Again, they took the napkin with the bone & said they would talk to the cook. At that point I stopped eating & waited for my bill & much to my dismay I was charged full price for my dish! I then went to talk to the waiter that handed me the bill to make some type of reparations for my breakfast on the bill. He then tells me he'll give me a discount on my bill & when it comes back he discounts 10% on my $12.99 plate which came out to a whopping savings of $1.30 on my bill! I was shocked to say the least with such poor customer service & total disregard for food preparation & safety of the customer. Needless to say I will not be coming back & I hope this serves as a warning to any of you that eat at this...

Never been to maggies cafe, the place looked friendly and chill, we decided to give it a go, Shakira (Hostess) greeted us with enthusiasm and seated us (at this point the vibe felt good) once we got seated Shakira handed us the menu (shes really cool and outgoing) basically once we were seated, we were forgotten, we were looking to order appetizers along with a cold one to start off, waiters going by, not making eye contact or "touching the table" one waitress in particular coming by and not stopping, cleaning the empty table behind us not once but multiple times, "touching the table beside us" making sure everything was good with the clients, after 20 min, my wife wanted to leave for lack of customer service, the menu looked really good and was excited to try a "New" place for us, unfortunately out experience for being our first time wasn't a good one, perhaps we can try at a later time, and if we do its because Shakira, this is in the efforts to have manager see how some employees are interacting with clients and maybe learn from and make things right from experiences like this to keep from...

I want to start off by saying the family that runs this place really know customer service! They are all super friendly and attentive. I truly enjoy seeing owners love their business and put the effort in to make it a great experience ! Their food is amazing. This morning I got the Patron Plate! I’m a big dude and was super hungry but I was no match for this monstrosity! It could be the perfect amount for regular sized folks to share. It had some of the best Flap meat carne asada, chili relleno, cheese enchilada and rice and beans and some amazing corns tortillas . But get this the rice and beans are just a filler. They could be eaten as a side dish. They had amazing flavor! Also I ask for some of their homemade salsa. The spicy one. It was so fricking good!
