We came from out of town and were craving Chinese we ended up finding this place. As soon as we walked in we were immediately greeted by the nicest gentleman. We were a party of 7. Instead of just giving us an extra chair he went the extra step and gave us an extra table because he wanted us to be comfortable. The amazing hospitality did not stop there . They were quick to give us our drinks and orders . The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was very very attentive. I can not say enough great things about this place . I wish them the absolute best . We’ll definitely stop by whenever we’re in town. 5 out of 5 on food, cleanliness, customer service, and over all experience.

⭐️⭐️ Update: Still absolutely amazing!⭐️⭐️ We came back to this place again, and just like last time it did not disappoint. The food was delicious as usual, but what really stands out is the hospitality. It genuinely feels like you’re having a meal at a friend’s house. The same sweet gentleman from our first visit greeted us again just as kind, funny, and welcoming as before. The waitress was also incredibly sweet and attentive. We live about two hours away, and this restaurant is always a highlight of our trip. Every time we’re in town, we make it a point to stop by. It makes me a little sad that each time we’ve come, the place hasn’t been as full as it deserves to be so if you’re reading this, please give this amazing spot a try. They put so much love and care into what they do.We don’t live nearby, but if we did, we’d be here...

PLEASE READ ENTIRELY! I came here to Mandarin Wok Restaurant for the first time today to eat and I had a great experience. The food was great, cooked quickly, priced fairly, and the owner Joanne was very friendly. We talked for a little about business, and the past few years as business owners. Many businesses have suffered great financial hardship during the pandemic and mine is no different. We are all holding onto what we put our lives into and this family owned and operated business is no different. I see people complaining that their food was served to-go style, which was true for me as well. What they don’t see is a family working very hard and looking to hire to keep their dream alive. Operating understaffed is a condition of many businesses all over the world at this time, including mine. This should not be something held against a staple of the San Diego restaurant industry. They are doing everything they can to keep their customers happy and their business open. The service was great, as well as the food, as well as the price. I really liked the design and art of the place, and the music. Joanne was working the entire front restaurant and to go orders on her own. I truly believe that she, and her family deserve credit, and understanding, for the hard work and great service that they provide. This is especially true after such a difficult time in all of our lives. Thank you Joanne I will...

This family owned restaurant has had to change with the times to survive the pandemic. This means fewer employees and a couple of short cuts, so they don't sacrifice the quality of their food. Paper plates and plastic cutlery replace the usual dinnerware and your meal comes in to-go boxes, which actually saved us time. We had the eggrolls and pan-fried dumplings for appetizers. Both were fresh, hot, and flavorful. Dumplings came with chili oil and vinegar on the side to mix to taste for dipping. Sweet and sour, soy, additional oil and I believe mustard (I didn't try it) were available on the table. Asparagus is fresh and the chef whipped up a chicken dish with carrots, onions, mushrooms, and asparagus in a mild sauce for me. The meat was tender, vegetables crisp-tender, and sauce was richly flavored without being oily or soupy. Companion ordered the Mongolian beef. Meat was very tender and flavorful. Her dish had onions, scallions, thin chunks of beef in a sauce. Again, coating the meal without being soupy. Both main dishes came in quart container boxes and we shared a steamed rice box. We are looking forward to a couple of meals from the leftovers. We were concerned at the prices when we looked at the website, but you're getting a great value for the cost. We will definitely...

The Mandarin wok is a good little mom and pop Chinese restaurant. We ordered the pu pu platter appetizer, Jasmine tea, shrimp in lobster sauce and cashew chicken. Each entree came with 1 egg roll, steamed or fried rice and hot and sour soup or egg drop soup. Everything was tasty and seemed to be made fresh but not over the top with delicious flavor - just average. Service was excellent and the food came out quickly. The decor seems traditional. The restaurant was clean. One thing that was different, the tables have plastic white tables clothes which are then cover with a glass table topper. I'm used to a cloth table cover, but its probably more economical to do plastic. The restaurant is in a little strip mall, we went for lunch on a Friday and it didn't get very busy. I could see that if they did get busy parking would be an issue because the strip mall is small. Some customers came to order to-go. Our total was less than $40 before tip.

Very quiet, older-looking restaurant. It's pretty comfortable overall. The service was friendly enough but not very quick despite there only being 3 other customers in the building. Lychee duck is surprisingly good. The rice is not good quality - very reminiscent of minute rice instead of classic steamed short grain or jasmine rice. The fried rice was pretty dry. We're pretty sure we overheard some chatter from the servers about orders getting mixed up, which would make sense as the other table also told them they'd received the wrong thing and were told "that's how they make it here." They mixed up the menu items for General Tso's Chicken and Tsou's Chicken and when we let them know we were told that WE were wrong and that's how they make the dish, even though they're two separate menu items and they gave us the wrong one. Not badly priced but I would probably not return.
