Mesa Pizza — Restaurant in San Diego

Decent pizza for the price, but I'd pay an extra dollar or two if I got more sauce or better prep of the ingredients.

I had three pizzas, a pepperoni, the Hawaiian, and the veggie, also some breadsticks. Hawaiian was good, pepperoni was not (very weird taste from the actual pepperoni, tasted bad), and veggie was not my cup of tea (but also wasn't for me, either).

The breading of the pizzas is actually really good, which is why I find it weird that the breadsticks are very much not.

Maybe it was the rush of people going there which lead to the subpar experience I had, as there were a lot of people picking up, and I also would've been okay with waiting the 30 minutes I waited, if I wasn't told it would be 10 minutes after the order was made. I hope that timeframe would be more up-front in the future, as I understand that getting swamped is not fun, and maybe they thought it would be, but there were six or more orders before me, and I don't know if there would be enough ovens and time to make over 20 pies.

I only made this review this long because I would like to see some improvement, and there is potential to improve. Maybe I'm asking too much for a budget pizza shop, but you can't improve if no one calls you out, right? Maybe I just went on...

Pizzas are good, don't have much to complain about the food.

My complaint and issue is that they usually close like 15 or 20 minutes before what they say they close, they are supposed to close at 9 pm and everytime that I have call them 20 minutes before 9 they never answer the phone, I understand that they want to go home, but I work at night, so everytime that I get to leave from work before 9 I rush back home so I can buy a pizza and they don't even answer the phone!. I just went to the place 15 minutes before 9 and the moment I was parking they turned off the sign of OPEN, I went inside and told me they were close. At least they should have the decency to answer the phone and let me know that they are not going to make any more pizza or that they are close so I won't have to drive...

Used to get pizza here in high school. Honestly my favorite pizza, it just never gets old. I've been to so many pizza places, but, not sure if it's nostalgia, but this one is my favorite. Consistent, delicious, and it is insane for the price. They could sell it for more and I'd buy.

What's cool is that there are other places around, so if you want you can get some pizza here, some yogurt ice cream nearby, maybe some sushi or whatever. The location is great, so if your friends want pizza and boba, for instance, you can all have your way.

I used to go get a Taro boba drink at one place (closed now, but there is another good one) and yogurt ice cream at another place, while still having the pizza all within walking distance from my high school. So I'd get that and walk back, share pizza...
