SHAKA Coffee — Restaurant in San Diego

I came here for looking for a matcha type drink, they had a good variety of drinks pitaya bowls and snacks.I didn’t try any specialty drinks I just got the iced vanilla macadamia iced coffee, it’s got a great flavor. I gave the atmosphere 3 stars because the parking lot is small and not alot of room. I was going they had a number so I could order ahead of time luckily I someone left and parking space opened up as I was giving up hope. One thing I felt was kinda petty was that my iced coffee wasn’t filled up all the way and I hate to mention it but I did request twice no room for cream because I notice so many places skimp you out on those couple inches of room unless you specifically request not to. Not so good caramel macchiato!

I was in the area for work and was looking for Starbucks and that's when I found this place on yelp listed as the nearest coffee place so decided to give this place a try based on yelp reviews.

I have always been a Starbucks fan and really wanted my morning coffee after driving for nearly 2 hrs early in the morning, so was really hoping to find that perfect caramel macchiato and I was really disappointed by the coffee here, it was really sweet and not at all foamy and could hardly taste any caramel in the coffee. Totally not worthy $4.65 coffee with $1 tip.

PLS get a new TABLET!!! love the açaí bowls, smoothies and coffee here. I’ve been coming to the balboa location for 3 years. All of the staff is so nice and helpful and I’ve met plenty of new ones over the years. My only complaint is that the iPad they use for payment often doesn’t work. It’s literally from 2006 and obsolete- ex DoorDash pick up order couldn’t be pulled up (iPad) and about a year ago it was the same thing. I hope the owner will invest in this location.
