Rose Donuts — Restaurant in San Diego

Visited Rose donuts for the first time today. Ordered the chicken salad sandwich with everything and 2 donuts; 1 glazed twist and 1 maple glazed with bacon. The sandwich is a solid 8 on a scale from 1-10. No complaints there, all the veggies super fresh, crisp cold lettuce, lots of pickels, perfect croissant which was toasted so it was crisp and flakey on the crust. A really good sandwich! I could even go up to a 9 on it. Now the glazed twist which is my go to choice for donuts. Light, soft, super fresh tasting. Really good. But the super star was that maple bacon. Oh 👏 my 👏 goodness 👏 !!! Donut, super soft, fluffy, fresh...maple, perfectly sweet, not overly sweet. Nice real maple flavor; the bacon, perfectly crisp and the bacon ratio was perfect! Perfect balance of salt to sweet. Did I mention it was perfect? Well it was. PERFECT!!! Go here. Get the bacon maple donut....

Just in town for a few days, craving donuts. Ordered online to be delivered, (by post mates). The driver got lost but no big deal. The donuts i recieved were no where even near the donuts I ordered... turns out if you order "1/2 doz donuts" you should call and actually tell them exactly which donuts you want or, even tho the site says you can pick there, or they just do a random selection. So the girl I talked to there, Gabby, not only explained it all to me but she got ahold of the delivery company, after I had tried for half an hour, got my order refunded, and then offered me another half dozen on another day! The chinese family that owns this place is always so friendly and ready to take your order. In the early morning, this place can have especially long lines--even on the weekend because their donuts are really good. Their donuts are always fresh, not greasy, and have just the right amount of sweetness to them. Their cake donuts as well as their fried-donuts are both things to look forward to.
