I hate to leave a 2 -star review for such an amazing pizza, but I would like to leave feedback for their frustrating iPhone app, and this is where I'm directed to.
My wife and I love Mr Moto. We live nearby and eat their pizza often. Once in a while we go in person, but mostly we order delivery. Previously, a customer could call in and order on the phone. You could also attempt to order as a guest online. Now their online ordering is now only through their app, unless you want to use DoorDash. You've got to build a profile and provide your data, in order to use the app. We live very close to the location, so we'd rather tip a local delivery driver than pay a tech corporation a fee to get delivery. The alternative is to order through Mr. Moto's app.
The problem with the app... The default ordering method is "Pick Up", so if you don't notice to change to Delivery, it's automatically a Pick Up order. After paying for the order, then noticing it's Pick Up, the only way to cancel is to call into the location on the phone and ask them to cancel. Then I have to recreate the exact same order on the app, this time making sure it's Delivery instead of Pick Up.
Basic App Suggestions:
Require the user decision between Pick Up or Delivery in order to continue to the food selection.
And/Or allow the user to change the order from Pick Up or Delivery within a short time window after the order is made for corrections.
Allow the user to cancel the order on the app, so they can get confirmation it has been cancelled. This would eliminate bothering the employees in the location unnecessarily. Past a certain time window (5-7 min), a cancellation isn't possible, or costs a fee.
Include a Feedback or Customer Service link within the app in order to make suggestions, indicate inefficiencies, and allow for clarification without the need to air grievances on Google Reviews.
If the pizza wasn't so delicious, I'd opt for one of the many competitors in the North Park area. If this review gets any response or follow up communication from Mr. Moto management, I'd be happy to modify the rating. I'd like to help you make your business and app get pizza to happy customers, rather than just hungry ones. The ball is in your...
Read moreTL:DR these guys are no slouches on their pizza or wings. -1 star for delay on in person pickup.
Ordered half pepperoni and mushroom pizza half margherita + ricotta and wings for pickup. They get off to a great start with a crust had a great balance between crispy and chewy. (there's gluten free/celiac crusts but that's not my jam so I can't comment on that). Toppings were generous but not overwhelming. Sometimes pizza places can overdo the sauce or toppings and leave you with a crust in the middle that kinda soaks through and is impossible to eat in the typical american way, but that's not the case here. The basil on the margherita side was fresh and whole leaf which I liked but the tomato's they used were sliced a little thinner than I usually like but we're also fresh and tasty.
On the pepperoni mushroom side, those delicious lil ronies were curled and just a bit crispy around the edges chefs kiss with juicy mushrooms littered throughout.
For the wings, some places focus on just the sauce or just the wing and I feel like it's hard to find a spot that does both really well and these guys have got it down. Wings are un-battered, tender and flavorful with just enough crisp but not so much to make you think they were deep fried and then tossed in a classic buffalo sauce.
My only qualm with my experience was that I went in person and paid in story for my order and then proceeded to wait about 15-20 mins for my food waiting for my name to be called but it never was. Finally one of their staff noticed that a few people had come after me and left already with their food and asked what my order was and low and behold it had been behind the counter for a bit but never announced. That was kind of a bummer because I didn't get to experience their food at it's freshest. I'm pretty sure this was a fluke and not representative of their usual service but I can only rate based on my experience so I subtracted 1 star for that. I'll probably be ordering from this place again, and you should give them a chance if your looking...
Read moreI moved to the area recently and I'm looking for my new pizza place. Now I'll say firstly I'm a tough reviewer but this place i was pleasantly surprised. I ordered garlic knots and a pepperoni pizza with extra sauce and sauce on the side. First the garlic knots, the knots were good but just a bit doughy. When the dough is rolled I would do it just a tad thinner to really give it a good crust. The dipping sauce I fell in love with it has a very good parmesan garlic/ flavor, it was very rich and complimented the knots beautifully. The pizza was good the dough had a slightly buttery flavor I thought was unusual but good my only criticism was the sauce, or how it was spread really. Some places when they ladel on the sauce they spread it with the bottom of the ladel and make wide circles and it pushes all the sauce towards the crust and the rest is kinda bland because it's missing. The sauce is too good to not have enough so my only suggestion is to make sure it's spread evenly, that's why I order extra sauce it's actually common. Barring those two things I thought it was delicious and I'll def try again hopefully they'll make those minor changes but over...
