Updated review: I really like Parakeet’s menu and the service at this location. Today I’ve ordered a new item for me: Parakeet bowl with an addition of chicken as protein option. It was delicious. My taste buds are still getting used to healthy meals - I just recently stopped eating sugar, and the kale part was an acquired taste, but I loved how balanced my bowl was, how filling and good for me. Previous review: Parakeet cafe is always a great idea for breakfast or lunch! I usually go to the One Paseo location but went to this one the other day, as it’s very close to my work. I loved it- very charming space, they have a beautiful garden there and guests have a choice of sitting indoors and outdoors, including in the garden area - very pleasant. The food was great, the decor and overall vibe very nice, as always, and the employees were super friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my meal there and will be back. My favorite items on the menu are Eggs and Salmon, latte and chocolate chip oat cookies.

During my two-week visit to San Diego, I discovered a cafe called Parakeet while looking for somewhere within walking distance from my Hilton hotel. Normally, I don't eat anything other than coffee in the morning, but after trying their warm, crispy croissant once, I couldn't resist having one every day. I have high expectaions when it comes to latte and croissnats and honestly, I was impressed-which doesn't happen often. The cafe is very spacious, and thanks to the tables with parasols, I always enjoyed my coffee sitting outside. Drinking coffee indoors in San Diego feels like you're wasting perfectly good sunshine. I felt welcomed every morning thanks to the incredibly kind Roderick, and even the restroom in the building was spacious clean-a rare luxury if you're used to the closet-sized ones in New York. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, it was the perfect way to start my day.

Friendly and helpful staff, a lot of great options. We got the lavender matcha, salted maple latte w cold foam, latte, and matcha latte. For food we got the breakfast burrito, brekky croissant sandwich (added chipotle aioli and avocado so good) and the oatmeal. All were very tasty and good, excited to return to try out more food from the menu. The only thing to bring the rating down was the charcoal waffle. Wasn’t bad, just unimpressive, we got one to split between the three of us but no one wanted to finish it. Will be returning for more!!

The first thing that stood out to me is the service. Roderick the manager was super attentive, kind and gracious when handling our order. He was very detail oriented with our order making sure there was nothing that we were allergic to in our meal. Taking that time and care is something that we have found to be super rare.

The food was fresh and prepped made to order. Everything was really yummy. The coffee was also super delicious.

I also appreciated how many options there were that were vegan and gluten free both savory and sweet. I almost always get the salmon, and it’s fresh and perfectly cooked every time!

The space is big and clean and outside there is a beautiful and much loved veggie and flower garden. My girlfriend and I spent a good 20 minutes just in awe of it and all the happy plants, butterflies and bees.

A hidden gem for sure!...
