Where: Urbane Cafe 5375 Napa Street, Ste 103, S.D., CA 92110 Date: Thursday; May 8, 2025 Time: Between 8 & 9pm Just a quick tip to the staff member at this location responsible for my experience as detailed below: You will lose less customers if you own up to your mistakes and don't LIE about them. I ordered a portobello mushroom sandwich, no mozarella cheese, no pesto, add tomato. No problem said the cashier. When I took a bite of my sandwich I tasted no tomato, upon opening the sandwich for closer inspection I could plainly see that the requested tomato had not been added to the sandwich. I took the sandwich back into the restaurant, the young lady behind the counter quickly apologized and offered to rectify the situation. Great, thank you I said but then the man standing beside her (coworker or a terrible manager, I have no idea what his title was) quickly interjected that a tomato had been put on the sandwich. I would like to take this opportunity to reiterate that No sir, thank God I am not visually impaired and I can see whether a tomato is or is not on a sandwich. Then this man went on to say but we'll put extra on there for you. What in the world??? Nope, this customer won't be back. We all make mistakes but I have zero tolerance for liars who try to cover up their mistakes especially when I'm the...

What an amazing way to keep the customer in mind. Alicia D (at least that's what was on the receipt) was who took my takeout order with complete ease and was very knowledgeable about the menu. I let them know that one of the orders was for a baby. I finished the call and made my way to Urbane Cafe. While I was on my way, one of the orders had spicy chicken and they made the decision on changing the chicken in that meal to be normal chicken breast. When I got there, they let me know about the substitution and was so happy to be informed about the change. If I had given a baby spicy food, the whole evening would have been ruined. So I want to thank the staff for saving my night.

So the food was pretty good, especially for a fresh takeout experience.

I love the outside seating. Also, the restroom were pretty clean as well.

I was also informed they do a veterans day discount.

Freshest, best food in S. California. First time, customer ~second time you are welcomed and treated as a dear friend and family.
