Safari Kitchen — Restaurant in San Diego

We really enjoyed our experience. Obviously, zoo food is expensive so this was no exception. However, the portions were big and the food tasted great. We both had the buffalo chicken sandwich that came with fries and we ordered a side of onion rings to split. We both got full before finishing everything. The good:

Buffalo chicken sandwich was pretty good.

The bad:

Rude/unwelcoming cashier, cold burger patties in the bacon cheeseburger. The patty was very dry. It wasn’t even room temperature, it had cold patties. Kids meal is terrible. It has only three chicken strips, barely enough for a child.

Terrible bacon cheeseburger—definitely not “gourmet”. Cold fries, synthetic cheese sauce on loaded tots. Insanely overpriced. This is a basic school cafeteria frozen processed hamburger patty — be warned. Zoo staff says Mexican restaurant is the place to eat if you have to eat here. Next time, I’m packing...
