Authentic Peruvian dishes flavored with authentic ingredients. Sangicheria is doing it right!

From first through final moments in this restaurant, it was a joy! Music and vibes, cleanliness, seating options, and hospitality were excellent! Even the temperature was notably enjoyable - I don't think I've ever thought that about a restaurant 😂

Most importantly, the food was DELICIOUS! All the meats I've tried so far have been well seasoned, and the cooks clearly took their time - no shortcuts with deli meats.

The menu is tight and clean: A few handfuls of options, but each item is done really well. I love that they expand their menu on the weekends with more "full plate entrée" dishes and specials - always classic Peruvian dishes.

I'm excited to return to try more of their menu, but of the few times I've been here, so far, so great!

A lot of seating despite being a smaller restaurant, yet it doesn't feel cramped. The owner and team are always helpful and warmly available, without being overbearing. So wonderfully friendly - feels like you're really in Perú 🤗🇵🇪

In their dessert case I've seen them (neatly) stocked with causa, budin, flan, Inka Kola, Kola Inglesa, even emoliente and chicha morada!

From my limited experience and from what my friends who visit Sangucheria often, their quality consistency is a true highlight. That alone is a solid reason...

Authentic Peruvian mom & pop restaurant. Got the Friday/Saturday special Pollo Al Horno con Ensalada Rusa entree which was excellent, and the Choripan sandwich which was very good. For dessert we got the Flan which was excellent. The employees are very friendly and eager to answer any questions and make suggestions. We will definitely come back. Update: Got the Asado, Pure & Arroz; Pavo sandwich; and for dessert, the Mazamorra Morada/Arroz Con Leche. Everything was excellent. Update: Got the Anticuchos, Chicharron sandwich, and for dessert, the Mil hojas. Everything was excellent! Update: Got the Arroz con Pollo y Papa a la Huanacaina, Asado sandwich, and for dessert, the budin. Everything was excellent! Update: Got the Loma Saltado, which was excellent; and the Pollo sandwich, which was very good. Update: Got the Piqueo Criollo (carapulcra, cau cau, aji de gallina) and budin for dessert. Everything was excellent! Update: Got the Tallarin Saltado entrees, one with beef, one with chicken. Both were excellent! Update: Got a Chicharron sandwich and a beef empanada. Both were excellent. Man, you want a great quick bite to eat and you're in the area? Do NOT sleep on this place, it's SO GOOD! Stopped here for the first time on my way to visit my parents in Santee and it hit the spot. Had the Chicharrón sandwich which i washed down with a tasty Inca Kola and lucuma ice cream to top it all off. What a feast! For the uninitiated, Peruvian Chicharrón is different than Mexican Chicharrón. While it's pork, it is not like pork rinds (dry and crunchy). It is fried whole then sliced thin so you get this little bit of crunch on the outside but a meaty bite inside. This sandwich has a slice of sweet potato, served with classic Peruvian salsa (red onions marinated in lime) on a soft, delicious roll. Do yourself a favor and try it out.
