I’m going out of my way to write this review thanks to the awful service I received this evening from Chloe.
I don't got to Starbucks often, but a buddy gave me a $10 Starbucks gift card and so I came to this Starbucks about a month ago, ordering the seasonal "iced" sugar cookie coffee drink recommended by the barista, and I had an $3.25 balance remaining on my gift card after this visit.
Today, while in the area with my wife, I returned to this location and showed the gentleman taking orders the receipt with my remaining balance and asked him for the same drink. This drink is made with almond milk by default. I'm actually severely allergic to almonds and had substituted oat milk for almond milk, which the receipt showed and which he read out to me before inputting my order.
When they finally called me to get my drink, I was annoyed (but only internally), as they had given drinks to 2-3 customers who came in 5min after my order, and had already given my wife her drink several minutes earlier, Chloe announced it as sugar cookie with almond milk, not oat milk. When she said that, I asked politely if they had put oat milk in it and she replied with yes, but with a dirty look and rude tone. I thought that was a very weird reaction to a simple question, but whatever.. so long as I get my drink, cool, I'm out of here. Then she hands it to me and it’s hot coffee. I go “excuse me, but this is hot and I ordered the iced version.” She replies that there is no "iced" sugar cookie, that the menu is confusing, but it’s okay, and that everyone makes mistakes.
At this point, I sat back down, clearly leaving the hot coffee behind, assuming she would make me the correct drink. I patiently waited as she kept making drinks for other customers that were entering after this exchange. She messed up another ladies order in the meanwhile and also had an argumentative tone when interacting with her. Then, when nearly 10min had passed, she looks over to my wife and I and asks me in a rude tone, “what are you guys still waiting for?" Her intention here wasn't to express concern or apologize for making me wait to receive the correct drink - it was more of a “why haven’t you left” type question.
I, again, clearly left the drink behind on the counter. I guess she was trying to wait me out and hope I would accept the drink as is when I really did not want hot coffee. I replied with "I'm waiting for the iced sugar cookie coffee drink that I ordered." She proceeds to roll her eyes and says “okay, ill get that for you,” and then again starts with the, “but you know there is no such thing, the menu can confuse you and we all make mistakes.” She seemed jittery - I don’t ever, and I mean ever, accuse people of taking meds or the like, but perhaps she does and that’s the reason for her erratic behavior. What type of person gets so angry when asked to make the correct drink? She's a strangely upset individual.
So, it was clear at this point that when she said “we all make mistakes,” for a second time, she meant that I made the mistake, not her, which is hilarious because as she kept on repeating that no such drink exists, there’s literally a picture of it as a featured drink with ice on the menu right behind her. I'm non-confrontational and I'm certainly not going to put myself in a position to argue with Crazy Chloe. She decides to make me the iced drink, finally. It took her under a minute to make, meanwhile I've been sitting there for 15min after my initial order. To further demonstrate what a spiteful individual Chloe is, she intentionally left room at the top + excluded the sprinkles, both of which I received in my first experience at this location, which was pleasant - the opposite of this one. She then wished my wife and I, happy holidays, in a condescending tone.
Chloe, you shouldn’t be in a position where you’re constantly interacting with the public. I'll never visit this location again so as to not encounter you and your poor attitude. Starbucks would be out of business if they had more...

Customer service from Courtney, Cedric and manager Trinity exemplified graciousness, gravitas, warmth, percipience and meritorious distinction. E.T. extols aforementioned employees for giant holiday bonuses, generous tips per diem and skyward growth with the Starbucks corporate brand. Secondary sidebar! A rabid Selena Gomez fan satellite appeared randomly, out of nowhere, behind the counter to pour desirable skim, nonfat milk for tea. The name badge tagged her as employee "Selena", even though that was unlikely to be her legal name. The odd, strange, weird thing was that "Selena" appeared to be hymning popular song lyrics as she poured skim milk. "Well, you think you are the one, boy. No, I got you. I've been playing with you. Like a little toy. Yeah, I got you. I got you. I got you...I'm sick of the rumors and the alibis...I'm s-s-s-s-so sick of you. So sick of you." Shockingly yet unsurprisingly, the skim milk pour from "Selena" was adulterated, tainted, compromised by a noxious irritant herbal additive. The exposure was treated with prescription medication. Read moreI spend 1-3 hours a day in some Starbucks, somewhere in the world, almost every day. I can say with authority that this Starbucks is the best. Not only does the barista team treat me well, but they each other well. You can hear the smiles in their voices as they talk to each-other and their customers. The atmosphere is genuine and positive, and you can tell the employees there really like their job. This is something I observe over and over again, a this location.
The manager there (J.P.) treats this Starbucks as if it were his very own business. He's always working hard to support his staff, and I often see him cleaning tables and picking up trash outside - the sign of a real leader, IMO.
One more thing... my drink is almost always perfect. And if there's ever something that's not right, it's like they take it personally. They WANT to get it right. Trust me, this isn't usually the case at most Starbucks. It's rare that it happens, but sometimes, the drink needs fixin. :-) I'm totally nice about it... but I often get looks like... "okay sure... whatever you say.". No responsibility. No ownership. No care. But at this Starbucks in Carmel Mountain Ranch, they do care. They do take ownership.
This Starbucks is a model for all others. I don't want to lose J.P. here, but seriously, this guy should be making 300K a year traveling around the globe showing other Starbucks how it's done.
That's all I have to...
