I am obsessed.

I came here with a friend after seeing a billboard and I was definitely not disappointed. Everything is so fresh and clean. The sushi just melts in your mouth. The rice is so soft. From what I see from other reviews, I definitely think they worked on the rice issues and the sizes of the cut of fish. I thought the rice was perfectly soft with a hint of sweetness. The fish was a good decent size, not too thin or too small.

I'm not a sushi connoisseur or anything. I usually go for the decently priced sushi deals where the fish isn't top notch (ballin' on a budget you know?). But this place is just so good! And the price isn't that bad either, especially for the quality.

The amount of stuff they give you will fill you up as well (food other than actual sushi). Although, I would say don't come here super hungry. I don't think the portion is enough to get you very full. Just satisfied. But that could just be me because I feel like I can eat more than 12 pieces of sushi. I was just left wanting more!

I got the About Classic ($27). I think this is the best pricing option. It seems the About Special is ten dollars more for 2-3 more pieces of food (one not being sushi)? Not too sure if I'm missing something but I don't think it's the best option out of the three.

I will say the only thing that slightly stressed me out was the fact that they give you a small bottle of VOSS water. Super fancy and cool! But, you have to pay for the second bottle and I was not down to pay for a second one. So, during my dinner I drank my water sparingly to conserve my limited water resources (lol). Not too sure if there was just a tap water option? I was too shy to ask.

Other than that- everything was great. Service was quick and speedy! I was never really waiting for more food. Which was nice. I will be coming here...

I’m so bummed... I really wanted to love this place because the one it replaced was an easy 5 star sushi spot. So they had big shoes to fill. However, some big red flags were too big to overlook. First off, the dining area is uncomfortably close and doesn’t have a lot of charm to make it an inviting place to enjoy some sushi. There were only two other tables eating when I was there and the waitress told me to sit anywhere... but nowhere looked appealing. So when I did choose a table I immediately noticed how uncomfortable the wooden chairs were. Pretty to look at but not pleasant to sit in. Soooo... I ordered three rolls and a miso. The miso was great, nice and fresh. As well as the ginger, chilled just like I like it. But the wasabi was... I dunno, tasteless. It had a strange texture but may as well not have been there. I’ve never had wasabi like that. Not good. The rolls were fine, nothing over the top or memorable. But the price... they list them all at 50% off but the prices are so obviously inflated and the 50% just brings them down to the regular price you’d pay anywhere else. It’s just a gimmick that is frankly insulting the intelligence of their customers. Just tell us the price, don’t be weird about it. We aren’t dumb!

So the food was fine, and I would have been happy with a 4 star review but the waitress made a huge mistake. Half way through my meal my drink ran dry and was not refilled until I got the bill. This is the single biggest reason I don’t come back to a place. Will I come back to Kuchi? Maybe... but I won’t be here every other day like I was with the previous restaurant. Oh well...

One last thing... why are the chefs hidden away? The sushi is made in the back out of view. I like to see the fresh fish and whatnot. Doesn’t...

I have been here a few times with some family members and some friends. The location is pretty popular wit other Asian establishments nearby. The ambience of this location is pretty good. It is very nice and cool. The lighting was pretty subtle. The presentation of the sushi is very nice and could definitely see it in someone's social media platform like Instagram or TikTok.

The prices of the sushi rolls are pretty decent. They marketing strategy is quite good, let me tell you that. They would put 50% off on some rolls and such, but if you think about it and calculate it, the prices of each rolls can be considered as overpriced, until the put the 50% off. But it wasn't a big hindrance of us going here to be honest.

The servers are quite nice and very jolly. I would definitely suggest sitting and getting your table inside the establishment. Or maybe it is just me, but I mean it when I said that I like the interior ambience of the place. I would definitely come back here and would bring more...

Sushi Kuchi is a great place to get delicious and affordable sushi in San Diego. The restaurant has a wide variety of rolls to choose from, as well as sashimi, nigiri, and other Japanese dishes. The sushi is always fresh and well-prepared, and the prices are very reasonable. I have tried a variety of roles at Sushi Kuchi, and I have always been impressed with the quality and taste. The sushi rice is always cooked perfectly, and the fish is always fresh and flavorful. I also appreciate the wide variety of other Japanese dishes that Sushi Kuchi offers. The service at Sushi Kuchi is also excellent. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they always make sure that I have everything I need. The food is also served quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend Sushi Kuchi to anyone looking for delicious and affordable Japanese food. The restaurant is a great place to go for a casual meal with friends or family.

Solid sushi choices and some of the fastest food delivery I've seen. Barely waited 10 minutes for all rolls. They do half off rolls and it's absolutely worth the price. When we arrived, the restaurant is in a small strip mall with a collection of other Asian restaurants. We were sat almost immediately and then the server was prompt to take our order. We tries the miso soup, which always is a good gauge of a quality of sushi spot in my opinion. From there we ordered 3 rolls, shrimp tempura appetizer and some seaweed salad. The shrimp tempura was nice and crispy, and their homemade tempura sauce was great. The rolls were also great and the seaweed salad was soaked in a great acidic, slightly sweet sauce. Overall this was a great experience and, although we didn't have one, we will return for their .50 cent sake bombs as well.
