New review : Yanni’s is our go-to for consistently great food. This time, we had the lamb burger, Greek pasta, calamari, and whiskey cocktails. The burger was juicy and packed with flavor—better than New Zealand restaurants! The pasta was perfectly Mediterranean with feta and olives, and the calamari was crispy and tender. They also serve complimentary bread with olive oil and vinegar, which is a nice touch. Great food, great drinks—Yanni’s never disappoints! Update review: I brought my parents in law here because my husband and I believe they would love this place. And we are right. This restaurant becomes one of their favorite restaurants in San Diego. Everyone had a great time here. Something amazed us other than the delicious Mediterranean foods are their homemade desserts. We had two desserts, tiramisu and cheesecake. Both of them are heavenly delicious. I one hundred percent recommend this restaurant.

Previous review: I want to highly recommend you this super good restaurant! We came here twice before but couldn’t get in because it was full. So don’t forget to book a reservation about a week before your dinner date, especially for weekend’s. We tried a couple of items from their Valentine’s Day special menu, the lamb shank with pasta was so delicious. The lamb shank is very tender, the sauce is perfect to eat together with pasta. We also had a calamari which is perfectly cooked as well. The flavor is not too heavy and super great. Also we had their special big baklava, it’s very yummy, and big! Very good food on a very nice dog friendly patio. The patio was very nice and fully covered, looked like the type of patio you could use in the rain. It had a soft breeze blowing through it so it didn't feel stuffy, but it also wasn't a stiff breeze that would make it too cold.

They had a water bowl for our dogs, which was nice. The food came out very quickly. The service was very friendly and attentive. I appreciated that they bring bread and olive oil for the table, it seems more and more of a rarity to get free bread.

All of the food we had was excellent. The seafood risotto was minimal spice, just enough to remind you it said spicy on the menu. I'm not a fan of spicy food but I was able to more than handle this risotto.

Be sure to bring lactaid if you're lactose intolerant, because a lot of their sauces were very creamy. All the food tasted heavenly.

The desserts were definitely made there, or at least not your run of the mill straight from the freezer desserts. We quite enjoyed the cheesecake. The port wine reduction was hard to get off the plate and onto our forks, but it was worth the effort. That would be my one area for improvement: they should drizzle the reduction directly into the cheesecake for easier access.

All in all, I am sure we will be back here. The prices were definitely a little higher than many restaurants in the area, it the quality was well worth it. This would be a fantastic place to take the in-laws, or a first date, if you wanted to really impress them while still keeping the vibe...

It’s not often that I write a review, but our outstanding experience at Yanni’s Bar & Grill compelled me to share it! For my wedding rehearsal dinner, my mother (Sherri M) reserved Yanni's for 55 of our family and friends. The manager Alex Zenteno made planning this rehearsal dinner a smooth experience from start to finish by working closely with us to arrange their patio space, review their menus, and discuss various details, from microphone setup for speeches to background music selection. After attentively assisting us, the rehearsal dinner was a huge success! First, the picturesque patio was so warm and inviting for my guests. There were beautiful hanging lights, a running water fountain, and lush greenery that enclosed the space, making it feel very private. The servers were highly professional and attentive, readily providing drinks and hors d’oeuvres to each guest. The buffet was elegantly arranged for us, and the food was FANTASTIC and in abundance. Most of our guests are very familiar with Mediterranean cuisine, and many of them raved about the excellent quality of the food. Desserts were quite the treat as well and quickly cleaned off each guest’s plate! When it came time for speeches, the microphones were quickly set up for us. Overall, the night could not have been more amazing. We will certainly recommend Yanni’s Bar & Grill to our friends and family in the area for anything from a casual dinner to an elegant event!
