Yesenia's Mexican Food & Ice Cream — Restaurant in San Diego

So, i was thinking this is my second review in total on google but is actually 5th one, and #1 related to food place, and i decided to leave this small restaurant a good review because it really impressed me. First of all they have a really big menu plus a variety of ice cream, clean and nice place. I ordered carne asada fries, which is my favorite and my coworker got quesabirria tacos,and we got outside waiting. The second thing i really liked was that the employee brought our orders outside, he didn't call us or our number how it is usually in this kind of place, and it is really nice when you are tired and can actually rest a little until food is brought in front of you...the third thing was the food itself, oh man, i usually order carne asada fries, and this restaurant is number 1 for now at this dish, it was a lot more than any other places i was until now, it also had a nice prezentation, great taste, and it looked really beautiful, look yourself at the picture, and also 3 kinds of salsa... well, im impressed... not talking about my coworker's order, it was looking really tasty, colorful, at the point that i was thinking i have to order some too😅, and also the prezentation, it was already enjoyable just to look at it... how i said, my 1st food related review, but i don't regret leaving it to this guys! Went on a Taco Tuesday and had a bit of everything.

The taco tuesday deal is amazing. The tacos are 1.99, huge and delicious. My mom got 4 and it was, I shudder to say too many tacos (because there is no such thing.) It was too many to eat all in one sitting, that's how big they were.

My brother and I got the torta cubana and the campechano burrito. The torta was delicious, and again, more than enough to split. It had beans, egg, ham, & a hot dog with lettuce onion and tomato. The beans were flavorful and not pasty/gummy like a lot of tacoshops beans are. The bread was toasted crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

The campechano burrito had carne asada, pollo asado, and one more meat, cheese, pico, and guacamole , also delicous.

My sister got beef rolled tacos and they were crunchy, the meat was juicy and they were loaded with sour cream, guacamole and cheese.

The guy next to us was having albonigas soup and it also looked amazing, served in a big bowl with two giant meatballs and the broth looked yummy.

They have 5 different hot sauces, pickled carrots and jalapenos on the salsa bar.

They also offer licuadoo, chamangos, mexican icecream and Flan.

I kinda want to keep this place to myself, but I also want them to get all the business.

Been dying to try the birria tacos that are all over their instagram! Finally my husband went in and picked up our to go order. When we got home I noticed we received the wrong order (totally ok, mistakes happen), so I called to let them know. Tony immediately knew why I was calling and apparently caught the mistake a few minutes after we left. He apologized and was suuuper nice, and asked me to come in again the next day for tacos. Went back in the next day and so glad we did- those tacos are amazing!!! Tony offered tacos on the house to make up for the mixup- so nice!! And also a free ice cream, which was all way more than what I expected. I'm so glad we went in, great people and great service, no wonder this place is always busy. We'll definitely be back very soon for more of...
