I want to thank the restaurant and its staff. For Eastern European cuisine, this place is number one for me!
A special shoutout to the genius who came up with selling half-portions of borscht! It’s a fantastic way to sample more dishes.
And the main secret of this place, you can ask a server about khinkali. Sometimes they are available in the menu. One portion of 5 khinkali cost $19.

Atmosphere There’s Russian everywhere. It feels authentic and charming and there’s a coziness to it. My girlfriend brought me here - only after a series of trials and tests, and I can see why. We sat outside, where there are string lights and they put a candle on the table. The flicker of the lights off of your date’s eyes along with the incredible food will make this the perfect date spot.
Parking Admittedly a little tricky. Street parking is the only option and it can take a few minutes to find something, but it’s worth it.
Food Obviously this is why you’re reading this review. We got the khachapuri to start. This bready, cheesy beauty will be the subject of your dreams from the moment you try it. If everyone in the world could take a bite of it at once, humanity would probably reach enlightenment. For mains, we got the chakapuli and the chicken shashlik. They were both amazing but I liked the shashlik a little more. Both came with rice, which was great. Last, we got the Babushka’s Surprise for dessert. The apple was so soft and the ice cream was simple but good.
Drinks I got a Russian pilsner because it felt right. The lady got a basil martini, which tasted kind of like an alcoholic green smoothie, but in the best way possible.
Service Great. Attentive but not too attentive. Lots of knowledge about the menu.
Recommend? Duh. But don’t tell just anyone about this place. It’s...
Read moreHad dinner at this Russian-Georgian restaurant, one of many we have been aching to try. Right out of the gate I knew this was going to be a memorable meal. The dumplings in the yogurt dill sauce were phenomenal. They could have put a mountain of them inside the bowl and we would have gladly eaten them. This was the second choice dish as we couldn't order the cheesy bread because of its size. It's meant to share between 4-6 people so we are gathering pepe to try this place with us. My wife ordered the Cornish hen that was fried to perfection. It was presented in a platter that they set on fire and I guess it was fairly accurate because that chicken was indeed fire. I ordered the leg of lamb and that too was one of the too three leg of lamb dishes I've ever tasted. It was so rich and delicious. Both dishes were served with a side of rice, just a perfect side for both. The plum sauce on my dish was beyond words. I literally passed bread around the bowl to get the last drop. We finished with a layer honey cake and that too was superb. We order wine and a lemon drop pomegranate cocktail that was excellent. Total bill, including 20% gratuity, was $105. While it wasn't cheap, the food was far far better than other expensive places we have dined T previously. For a weekday, the place filled up quickly and by the time we left there was a short wait to be seated. I imagine it's far more crowded weekends. Can't decide where to go? Put this place at the top of the list. It is absolutely a gem in the North Park...
