This place has some of the most creative and quirky drink names I’ve come across! While it adds to the fun, it can also make ordering a bit of a mystery—you’ll know the type of tea in each drink, but there’s no clear indication of whether it’s milky or not. A little more detail on the menu would definitely help!
I tried several of their house favorites, and each one had a unique taste. Dark Phoenix was my personal favorite—smooth, bold, and flavorful. Duck Sh*t (yes, that’s the actual name!) and Iron Goddess were surprisingly distinct, even for someone like me who isn’t a tea expert. Peachy Princess was light and refreshing with a nice fruity touch, while Matcha Made in Heaven was incredibly rich and indulgent—definitely one for matcha lovers! The variety here is impressive, and it’s clear they put effort into crafting well-balanced flavors.
The atmosphere is great for studying or working, but be warned—it gets crowded. The space is quiet, the tables are roomy, and there are plenty of outlets, making it a popular study spot. Because of that, finding a seat can be a challenge during peak hours. If you’re planning to camp out with your laptop, try coming early to grab a good spot.
Overall, this is a solid place for tea lovers who enjoy unique flavors and a cozy, work-friendly environment. Just be ready to hunt for a seat if you’re coming...
Read moreHow have I been here 4 separate times, and each time they DON'T have the drink I want to buy? In fact, over half the menu isn't even available whenever I have come. Literally, any other boba shop I've been to has everything available, and I have gone to countless boba shops between San Diego and Orange County. One time, I came in, and they were out of SUGAR. HOW DO YOU RUN OUT OF SUGAR IN A BOBA SHOP?? IT'S A MAIN INGREDIENT. Additionally, their screens are filled with bland, unoriginal AI art, which I suppose just goes to show how lazily they run this shop. Can't even create original graphics, gotta have an AI generate them in the most boring, bland, cookie cutter style that's ever existed. Additionally, the drinks I have tried just taste like a cheap copy of Orobae drinks in Irvine. There are many other boba shops on Convoy, and they're all better. Heck, It's Boba Time is within the exact same outlet, just a few steps away. Go there instead. At least they'll have whatever drink you want. Or Happy Lemon down the street. Or Kung Fu Tea. Or Daboba, their roasted brown sugar milk tea is leagues better than anything Yun Tea House serves. Or maybe I just wouldn't know because HALF THE MENU IS...
Read moreI really enjoyed their drinks and how strong the tea flavors were (tried #1, 2, 3) to the point I craved it and visited for a second time during my trip. My second visit was rather disappointing due to these reasons.
Hot drink is not worth it: Priced at $6.25, the exact same as cold, the hot drink comes in a significantly smaller cup (see photo: left-hot; right-cold). $6.25 plus $0.60 topping for a small hot drink is absurd. I felt ripped off and I ordered 3 hot drinks.
Lacking attention to detail: I ordered 3 hot drinks and 1 cold drink to go and was very surprised to learn that they do not offer cup holder trays nor any cup lid stoppers. The staff responded that they only have plastic bags, to which I declined because flimsy bags will not stop my hot drinks from falling over and spilling.
Better and competitive choices elsewhere: Because I’m visiting from Canada where there are endless bubble tea spots, I naturally compare their quality, service and prices. We have some of the best bubble tea stores and Taiwanese franchises here with a way wider selection. The convoy area seems limited in options so I can understand why locals rave...
