I saw Monsta Ramen pop on on social media and decided to give it a try during their Grand Opening week because of their special prices. All in all, the food was pretty good for the price! The food also came out super fast. I was expecting a little bit more authentic Japanese food, and this definitely had an American twist. We had a group of 4 and ordered a bunch of stuff to share. To order, we scanned a QR code and were able to add items to our cart, check out, split the bill, and pay all on our phones. Super easy and user friendly process. Apps: Chicken Gyoza (they were fried but were still pretty good). Tako Yaki (also fried, not made in a Takoyaki pan, so not super authentic). Potato Shrimps (bland, a little boring). Potato Croquette (also bland, boring). Ramen: Tonkatsu Ramen and Miso Ramen (pretty good, but broth was a bit boring). Black Garlic Ramen (the best one in my opinion, broth was very flavorful). Curry: Chicken Katsu Curry (this was super flavorful, and we go a huge portion for the price). Other/Sides: Sapporo (a pint for $3?! Can't beat that in San Diego). Monsta Lemonade (was lemonade, nothing special). Spicy Shrimp Rice Bowl (sweet and sour type of sauce, was pretty good). Cheese/Spicy Mayo Chicken Skewer (the chicken was fried, not grilled, so I was...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining here and was thoroughly impressed, especially by their outstanding curry rice dishes. My dining companions and I sampled a good variety of their offerings. The pork cutlet curry rice and gurobuta curry rice were both absolute standouts. The curry itself was rich and flavorful, perfectly complementing the tender, crispy cutlets. If you're a fan of Japanese curry, you seriously need to try Monsta Ramen Curry – it easily surpasses other well-known curry establishments. Beyond the curry, their teriyaki skewers and spicy mayo skewers were delicious additions, perfectly grilled and packed with flavor. We also enjoyed the potato shrimp and takoyaki, both of which were perfectly cooked and satisfying. What makes Monsta Ramen Curry even more appealing is the very reasonable price point. You get incredibly delicious food without breaking the bank. In short, if you're craving authentic, delicious, and affordable Japanese curry rice, Monsta Ramen Curry is an absolute must-visit if you’re in Convoy Streer. You won't be...
Read moreI definitely recommend this place. It’s super affordable and I’ve never found a ramen place selling Tonkotsu Ramen for $10! The discounts are great with both paper & online menu. Atmosphere is very warm and there are photos of the menu all over the restaurant. Parking is slightly a pain since it’s near other restaurants/cafes. Luckily, I found parking on another parking lot.
My visit to this restaurant was a great experience. Service from staff was really good. I got recommendations and my food came out fast. My friends and I had the Tonkotsu Ramen, Gyoza (5pcs), Potato Croquette Curry, and the Gyudon. The Gyoza is very crispy and juicy. The hot sauce that’s provided & the peppers makes the dishes more delicious! I love my meals with a slight kick at the end. Although the food itself is already plentiful in portion and seasoned well. I liked that all dishes were piping hot which actually helps on a cold night. Definitely coming back to try...
