Ambros Sandwich — Restaurant in San Dimas

I don't know if was the lack of attentiveness with the woman on this day or if it was just an off day for her. But when I got my sandwich I specifically asked for two items both of which were non-existent on my sandwich. I debated on whether or not to go back in the shop and asked her about this sandwich, but I decided against it because it frankly wasn't worth it and I don't know what she might have done with my sandwich out of my eyesight. I don't mean to sound so cynical, but you never know nowadays. I really try to be supportive of small local businesses, but on this day I should have stuck with my gut instinct and just went to the Subway sandwich shop just around the corner from my house as opposed to driving two miles based on the reviews. I'm giving it two stars because I do believe people do have an off day. But the sandwich itself wasn't anything spectacular...

I cannot believe how good the reviews are on this place. I went there for the first time today, ordered a small pastrami with cheese and a water. This sandwich was the most pathetic looking excuse for a sandwich. I think subway is the lowest level of sandwich shops due to one slice thick of each meat (usually 3), well I was wrong. I paid $8 dollars for a sandwich that was smaller than a hotdog. How the hell can this place be that good. I WILL NEVER BE BACK. TOTAL RIP OFF.

Their cold sandwiches are okay, but where it’s at is their Steak Avocado and Cheese sandwich. Try that one before leaving a bad review saying their sandwiches suck. Small business owned by the same owner for years. Always good, and always fast and efficient. I see reviews by dumb people saying “oooo customer service isn’t great, they’re not friendly enough” etc. C’mon people, it’s a sandwich shop that is mostly to-go. You get in, you get out, enjoy a nice sandwich at a good price, get on with your day. 5 stars...
