My wife and I went here for the first time Monday night 03/18/24. This place has the best pasta I have ever had at a restaurant, simply amazing! For an appetizer we had the bruschetta. This has to be the best bruschetta I have ever had, hands down. It was very crispy, not under cooked or overcooked, with balsamic vinegar and oil, topped with the freshest and firmest tomato's. Highly recommend. For drinks we had a glass of chianti and ice tea, the chianti was the best I have ever tasted. For the main dinner entrees we had spaghetti and meatballs (marinara sauce, not meat sauce), and the half and half, which consists of spaghetti with marinara sauce and ravioli. There has never been an italian restaurant I have ever been to, that cooks spaghetti noodles correctly. The noodles were firm, not mushy, and not hard. It's difficult to make noodles like this, we cook them at home to be firm but not hard, but I have never been to a restaurant that properly cooks their noodles like this. Just outstanding! The spaghetti sauce was also amazing, lots of flavor, not runny, and not too thick. The owner told us he cooks the spaghetti sauce for 4 hours. The meatballs were not under cooked or overcooked, with an explosion of flavor in your mouth. The cheese in the ravioli was to die for, just like the cheese my mother used to make in her authentic Italian manicotti. All the ingredients were fresh, including all the vegetables and side salad we had with our meal. At the end of our dinner, the owner of the restaurant brought us a special of his own making: Tuscany chicken pasta. Very nice guy, you can tell he is passionate about the work that he does. My wife was "full", but she could not get enough of the Tuscany chicken pasta he made for us. The sauce was creamy, full of flavor, and the chicken was divine: not too soft, not hard, just right. All the food we had was of exceptional quality: fresh, perfectly cooked, and chalked full of flavor. The owner recommends visiting during the week, not the weekend. It gets very busy on the weekend, and I could see that the restaurant is quaint and quite small.
The atmosphere was perfect. We had a booth right in front of the restaurant window. It was not loud or crowded when we went, and I really appreciated all the dark colors used in the decor. The bathroom was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. Everything at our table was very clean. A clean table is a big deal to me, and this place did not disappoint. All the dishes, silverware, and glasses were also clean. Sadly, at most restaurants, we have to ask for a clean something or other, but we did not have that problem here on Monday night.
I hardly ever write reviews for anything, but this guy deserves it, his service was very personable and extremely friendly. I love to see anyone who is passionate about what they do, and he definitely fits the bill. That is probably why his restaurant and food is way above average. The experience was so exceptional, I felt like I was on one of those food traveling shows, being catered to...
Read moreI had an absolutely terrible experience with this restaurant yesterday. We placed an order for delivery through Postmates and after nearly an hour and a half, I called the restaurant to see what was going on. The Postmates app still said the food was being prepared. The owner of the restaurant (I'm pretty sure) told me that the food was picked up 30 minutes ago and he had since had two additional drivers stop to pick up since then. It was very clear already at that point that he gave my food to someone who stole the food (that's what I would call it since they never delivered it to me). The restaurant said there was nothing he could do about it and he refused to remake the food and said I would have to contact to resolve the issue. So I was out $65 and no food. I couldn't believe the restaurant was more concerned about their revenue loss than making a customer happy, especially when this clearly was not my fault. The restaurant clearly did not do a good job verifying that the person picking up my order was legit and apparently in their mind this was my problem. At one point a fourth driver came to get my food and the restaurant called me and put the driver on the phone. Mind you this person had nothing to do with the situation, but he apologized repeatedly. The nerve of the restaurant to put a random person on the phone that had nothing to do with the problem was unbelievable.
Pozzetto could have worked with me to make sure I got the food I ordered and then we could have worked out the money to make sure he was paid. Instead they were jerks about it. I will not be going back to Pozzettos ever again. Mistakes happen, I get it, but they were jerks and their are far too many good italian restaurants nearby to waste my time and money with one that isn't to treat their customers...
Read moreSince taking a trip to Italy last year, this is hands down our favorite Italian restaurant in the states. We travel for a living, so we basically eat our way around the world. When Yelpers said to come to this little place just 5 minutes from where we were staying in San Dimas, we were a bit skeptical, but, Yelpers are always right!
This is Italian to the Nth degree. This is NOT fast food. There are like 3 entire people employed here. It's all fresh made, so relax, get some wine and chill out while they make you some food to remember!
We've now been here twice, and have also ordered delivery from Uber Eats. My hands down fav every time is the Chicken Tequila!!! The Chef/Owner (who is the sweetest thing ever) recommended it on our first visit and he basically insisted, so I ordered it. He asked if I like spicy. That's not normally a question you get at an Italian restaurant. I responded that I sure do. He asked "How hot?" I said "7 out of 10?" Well, apparently this fella makes his own hot sauce! He doctored up my Chicken Tequila and DAYUM it was GOOOOOD! I've since gottent hat dish 2 more times. Can't get away from it now. I crave it non stop.
The BF has gotten the Sausage and Peppers (a fav). Veal Marsala (was "bleeping amazing") and then Veal Parm. I also got the Shrimp Bistro once, which was good, but no Chicken Tequila!
Also, the first time we went, we ordered their wine, but then we learned you can BRING YOUR OWN! They'll cork it for $9.99. Awesome!
All in all, we won't be back to CA for 8 months, but I can already SMELL that...
