Wow. I had for the first time yesterday this place and I was not let down. Came with no expectations and was happily satisfied. Tried the breakfast sandwich which didn't last 5 mins upon leaving the place. So tasty and a well rounded brekkie sando. Salty, bready, crispy, fresh, but most important, yummy. Every component was well made and it provided a harmony of flavors and textures.
Only callout was the blueberry crumble croissant. I thought it was good but not great especially for the cost. It felt fairly light on the butter as the lamination wasn't done to my liking and the temp was a bit cold. Felt more bready than crispy/buttery which i prefer for my pastry. The blueberry crumble was also kinda just sprinkled on top which after one bite it all spilled off and was messy to eat. Needs a bit more finesse unless they were going for a rustic pastry. Again for the cost id expect French patisserie like one65 but the flavor was there.
Dont really gotta worry about long queues they were pretty quick even with made to order items they were cranking em out. Please never go away! This place is worth the try and visits over...
Read moreLovely spot for pastries and coffee, conveniently located in the same building as Bay Padel, so it’s the perfect place to fuel up before / after a game of padel or pickleball! I grabbed a latte and everything bun from Breadbelly before a round of games, and I was super impressed by everything — the coffee was creamy and smooth, the bun was super tasty, and everything came out remarkably efficiently. The bun was soft and pillowy and stuffed with a generous helping of caramelized onions, then topped with a dollop of cream cheese. It was a super fun combo, almost like eating an everything bagel but so, so much better, and the onions really enhanced the flavor profile. They also have a ton of beautiful toasts and sandwiches that I wasn’t quite ready to try (maybe not the best prelude to a racket sport), but I can’t wait to come back to try them!
I also love that they have an absolutely massive kitchen with giant windows. It was really fun to snack on my bun / coffee and watch the staff work their magic in...
Read moreSpur of the moment one weekend while we were out and about, my husband and I decided to bike to Dogpatch and check out Breadbelly, since this location is easier for us to get to than the one in Richmond. We hadn't been to this historic warehouse area before, and the building that Breadbelly's in has other cool spaces and businesses - it's got a nice community vibe.
Breadbelly itself was easy to find. Even though it was late morning and a few items were already sold out, there was still a line wrapping around the corner. Luckily, I managed to get what I was looking forward to - the kaya toast - which my husband and I shared along with a couple of other treats. The kaya toast is made to order, so it took a bit longer (especially with the line), but the other pastries were packaged up right away.
Everything we tried was really tasty - perhaps on the pricier side for pastries, but hey, it's SF. There's also some outdoor seating with tables and chairs, or you can grab your food to go and head to one of the...
