A laid back, easy going neighborhood bar. This isn't the place to go to be seen or act flashy. But if you want to have a relaxing talk with friends over a pint, this is the place. Its beer, wine and a handful of soju cocktails here (no hard alcohol). There's always a great selection of beers on tap to choose from and, as one would expect from SF, the wine list has solid options. Folks also seem to love the sangria. There are several foods to choose from, but the pizzas are the real winner. Small enough for one person to enjoy and always delicious and simple. But honestly, you're coming here for the atmosphere and vibe, which is dim and not fussy. Put on your hoodie, grab a seat at the bar and watch the world go by outside the windows or chat with the person next to you. Fly Bar has been on this corner ... well, I moved to SF in 2004 and it was already established then. This is the place my friends and I always meet up at to catch up. It's homey. It's got a easy fire to it (not artificial feeling injected by design and loud music). This is a place you can still glimpse a little of the old San Francisco heart that is so rapidly changing these days. Try this place. I bet it'll become a favorite.

Great neighborhood bar with a super friendly owner and employees, great drinks, and tasty food (pizza, wings, salads and sandwiches). Popular local hangout, everyone was friendly and seems to know each other.

Visited for happy hour. Great bar vibe and friendly staff. The food was extremely mid but the nice bartenders made up for it. Tried the nachos and margherita pizza.

Have been here before, and it was mediocre at best. Just went by this evening for a beer before last call, and the bouncer (a short blonde man) was smoking a cigarette by the front door. My friend did not realize he was the bouncer, and walked past. The bouncer went in after him, pushed him out, and then outside told us we weren't allowed to come in (despite not being aggressive, nor that drunk). Really seemed to be out of the blue that this guy was being a complete dick, as if he hadn't done anything in a while, and wanted to show that he was on a power trip.

I will not be back. If it works for you, go. But clearly some of the people who work here are pretentious, and the place is not...

NO HARD ALCOHOL?! BOO! I was bummed because it was my first time here and I was excited to get pretty buzzed and play some pool. When I ordered some tequila the bartender told me they only had beer and wine and sake. Bummer. With the amount of sake bombs and beer it would take me to get the same buzz off of 2 shots of tequila, my tummy would be as big as Santa Clause. No thanks. Point is, for this place being a bar I was pretty upset that they carried no hard alcohol. Pool table was cool, although the limited amount of space around the pool table allowed very limited shots...
