Located in the Parkside neighborhood, Milktopia is a small unassuming storefront; however, once you step inside you're greeted with a wide array of tea beverages, snacks and soft serve options - something for everyone!
Inside Milktopia, ordering can be done either with one of their employees or at the kiosk. Seating isn't plentiful in the store, which makes sense given the size; however, there are four bar stool style seating available for those of you wanting to enjoy your selections. Otherwise, most patrons often take their goodies to-go and enjoy them while strolling around the area.
I ordered their mango pomelo sago, the HK silky milk tea, and the salty egg puff. Mango pomelo sago is a personal go-to drink of mine, and I'm happy to share that the one crafted by Milktopia tastes just as good as any of my favorites. The HK silky milk tea was authentic, although I will note they use evaporated milk (as opposed to the usual condensed milk) so the drink is a little less sweet than it normally is, which could be a bonus to some. Their egg puffs are freshly made and take about 10 or so minutes to prepare. Their salty egg puff was a delicious mix of savory and sweet flavors, and they also have other unique egg puff flavors including oreo, boba, and meat floss (which I'll definitely be back to try in the future).
If you're in the Parkside area and are looking for your next best boba stop, then I highly recommend giving...
Read moreA couple years ago I had tried the crème brûlée drink, which wasn’t very good. A year ago, I move into the neighborhood but still stray from this place and opt to go to teazo or my cup tea if I want milk tea.
Yesterday, my friend craved some ice cream and we went here. I was hesitant, but wanted to give it a try since it’s been a while. I thought maybe they’d improved on things.
My friend got a small Nutella choco soft serve and I got a strawberry milk shake since I don’t like milktopia’s milk tea. My milkshake was TINY compared to the generous serving of soft serve. Honestly what a pitiful size of a drink for $7. Like less than 8oz I swear. An older woman poured the milkshake and handed it to the young male staff to serve to me. He took the drink but hesitated on handing it to me, until the woman assured him that was the correct amount and he sheepishly gave me the shake.
We took it and left. The soft serve was...

Ordered a mango shake and the mango pomelo sago. Mango shake was tiny, I expected it to be bubble tea size but it was maybe half that. The mango shake also was completely white and tasted like just a vanilla milkshake that smelled a little like mango. The mango pomelo sago was sub par. It’s advertised as having “real mango” but the “mango” tasted gummy and fake. It was also a bit icy and not super flavorful. For $8, I was definitely...
