Parkside Branch Library — Attraction in San Francisco

It's super cramped with rickety old tables and usually a cold draft. Stay beyond 30min in this place and you'll feel like you're on a pirate ship. The isles are tight so enjoy having some old guy's butt standing near your face as you try to relax or work. Watch out for the sniping librarians, sometimes they're nice --and sometimes they get super-controlling and maniacal about every little rule and allotment. The environment here can quickly become a 'game board' for the librarian's tactic. Example: An angry, frustrated librarian passive-aggressively slams an adjacent chair flush to the table, while simultaneously impacting ( calculated ) the back of the chair you're currently sitting in. 20 minutes until closing time often brings out last-minute antics ( offensive behavior ), at this specific branch.

Bring bug spray ( warm days ) because you will have a fly in your face every minute. This library is like an old, dilapidated cabin in the woods; it's fun to visit only for a few days. Please donate lots of money to make this library...

They are strangely precious about their tape. I’m not a tape abuser, I’ve always been really careful about how I use tape. Even when I have to use regular tape to seal up a package, I’m usually can make it work with not that much tape even if it’s just regular scotch tape.

The way the librarian approached me about how I was misusing the tape left a really bad taste in my mouth. I felt almost like a criminal or something. I immediately didn’t want to have anything more to do with this library.

I do not like following strange rules that don’t make sense to me. I think they might need a tape donation or something.

I will be returning every single book I had borrowed as soon as I can. I usually love libraries, but I really hate...

The kid/ person review is accurate. Librarians were not friendly to me or others. No Hi. They just kept talking to each other about break & when they work. Need to get rid of all their desks. Get off the chair and clean and help people!! Put seats for people. The smell is not of books. Cleaning needs to happen. This is a children's space. One shelf of New adult. Kids sections need cleaning....
