Norman's Ice Cream & Freezes — Restaurant in San Francisco

First time visiting Norman’s Ice Cream over the weekend and it’s a great little gem in Fisherman’s Wharf. If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the tourists in the Wharf and find a quaint and semi-private area, this is it. Norman’s is located off of Beale street in a small brick coveted shopping center. It’s located directly across from one of the Academy of Art University buildings and with its iconic ice cream cone, you can’t miss it. Now, don’t let it’s small size full you. They serve ice cream, milkshakes, and smoothies. When I went, the staff was friendly and moved quickly. There are several options to choose from. For some reason as soon as I saw the place I wanted to eat ice cream. They have a decent selection of flavors. I got the espresso ice cream with some chocolate chunks. That was sooo delicious. I usually don't like coffee flavoured ice cream but this one was good. The chocolate pieces were thin enough so they add flavour but you don't have to chew through them.

You also get plenty of ice cream in a single scoop so they're not being cheap. Not sure if it's the best ice cream(as they claim) in SF, but it's a good ice cream that I would try again. It is a bit hard to find since we stumbled by it by accident. Otherwise if I was specifically looking for the place I might have had...

Stopped by here while walking through the Fisherman's Wharf area on my trip to San Francisco. This is a small ice cream shop tucked away within a square that I think is referred to as The Cannary.

For such a small shop, there's a great array of different things you can order. I kept it simple and got a milkshake - I was a fan of getting to choose my own ice cream, and went with the cookies and cream option. It was just milk and ice cream, but wow was it tasty! The man (Norman, I guess?) running the shop was super friendly as well, and was very generous in letting my girlfriend sample some of the varied flavors of ice cream offered.
