During my trip to San Francisco, I stopped in on a Thursday around noon. They were decently busy but managed to seat my party of 3 in under 5 minutes at a table outside. Little did I know this restaurant would serve one of my absolute favorite meals of the entire trip!
I ordered the bagel fix-ups which also comes with a fruit salad. I picked #3 (black forest ham, one sunny-side up egg & avocado) & #6 (peanut butter, bacon, granny smith apples & maple syrup. - it was better than s.. you know, ha!! The flavors complimented each other heavenly & I loved being able to pick a sweet & savory dish. Also, I'm not sure where they get their fruits from but it was some of the freshest & tastiest fruit I have ever had in my life. I appreciated the variety and serving size of fruit offered as well and it completed the meal perfectly. My sister also ordered the bagel fix ups with #2 (mayo, scrambled eggs & cheddar cheese) & #3 (listed above) & she thoroughly enjoyed her food as well. My boyfriend ordered the avocado toast three ways and we were blown away with this dish. It is a large serving with a generous amount of avocado, delicious toppings, and yummy breads.
The value here is absolutely incredible for the quality & portion of food you get. The service is also outstanding. Kevin was attentive without being overbearing and absolutely on point with keeping our coffee mugs filled. We ate more than we should have but the food was simply that delicious and worth every extra bite. Considering this was one of the least expensive restaurants we ate at also made this a huge hit for us. This is one place I will most definitely go out of my way to visit every single time I find myself in San Francisco & recommend to...
Read moreWe just had the most amazing breakfast at 'eight am' (the restaurant, not the time😉).
Hubby had 'Avocado Toast Three Ways'. Each toast was on a different bread. One was topped with a perfectly fried egg, another with crispy bacon, and the last with a beautiful slice of heirloom tomato, mozzarella and drizzled with a tasty fig glaze.
I had a personal frittata with chicken apple sausage, spinach and gruyere. It was served with a side of one of the best breakfast potatoes I've ever tried. They were oven roasted with crispy outsides and soft, fluffy interiors. Delicious!
Both breakfasts were served with a beautifully composed fruit cup full of color and flavors. Most places simply dump the fruit together but not here. Each fruit was cut and placed precisely to highlight the colors and presentation.
We even got dessert for breakfast with these incredible caramelized banana crepes. They offer several crepe options (both sweet and savory), each cleverly named after a time of day. Our choice was '10 am'.
The customers at the next table had waffles with fruit, matcha chia pudding and the lox bagel. Each were presented beautifully. I should have taken photos of their meals, but that would have been weird...
The service was prompt and friendly. The chef even came by to check on our satisfaction, something that generally happens only in fine dining establishments, which to me this definitely was.
I can't say enough about this place, the food and the experience. If you find yourself in the neighborhood you...
Read moreHad the most delightful brunch experience at "eight am" in San Francisco today! This charming spot is definitely becoming my go-to weekend destination. I ordered their bacon frittata and was blown away by the execution. The frittata was perfectly cooked - fluffy eggs with a beautiful melted cheddar top that had just the right amount of browning. The bacon pieces were generously distributed throughout, adding the perfect savory bite to each forkful. What impressed me most was the thoughtful accompaniments. The seasoned breakfast potatoes on the side were crispy on the outside and tender inside with just the right amount of spice. And that fresh fruit bowl! A colorful mix of strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and banana slices - all perfectly ripe and a refreshing palate cleanser between bites of the rich frittata. The presentation was Instagram-worthy on their stylish white plate with gold trim, but more importantly, everything tasted as good as it looked. I spotted a bottle of Tapatio hot sauce on the table, which is always a welcome addition for those who like a little heat. Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere that's perfect for a leisurely Sunday brunch. If you're looking for a breakfast spot that pays attention to the details and serves up hearty yet refined breakfast classics, "eight am" is absolutely worth a visit. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu...
