Overpriced, was stingy with sauce and poor customer service. Taste was just about acceptable. This is the Northern Vietnamese pho which serves the thick flat rice noodles and doesn’t come with the typical plate of bean sprouts and mint leaves. Soup base was alright. Portion was artificially inflated by bowl size and broth volume but poor in content and substance. This place also lacks basic customer service. As shown in photo the table is empty and not your typical Pho shop that comes with the regular sauces (Sriracha, Hoi Sin, etc); all these were served in small tiny dipping sauce plates. When asked for more sauce, waitress showed an unhappy face as if we inconvenienced them or that we shouldn’t have eaten so much of their Sriracha sauce. We never had such problem at other Pho shops as these sauces are readily available on the tables and free for all to use per table. This shop was too pernickety to the point that it impacted the whole customer experience. I would’ve looked the other way if the tradeoff was a cheaper price tag. In fact we paid 20% more for a regular bowl of Pho than we would have at a nearby and better Pho place at Irving. Overall not a good experience but probably reasonable for people who don’t mind the higher price, mediocre customer service, and want to travel too far if they’re nearby...
Read moreThe fried fish cake comes with pickled radishes and carrots. The picking is spot on with vinegar to sweetness. Nice presentation with rice noodles sprinkled with ground up peanuts and sautéed green onion. Pho is the major offering but I not sure what region is being represented here, North/South or Asian? I got the large pho ga (chicken). It came with wide white noodles and really shredded chicken pieces (skin included or home style). The broth is delicious with hints of spice in the background. Very smooth flavors and pretty clean broth. No bean sprout or basil leaves, yes I said it “no bean sprout” on the side. I think that someone forgot to tell them that bean sprouts is a super food and it keeps old men regular with their cycles. Wedge of Lime and sliced jalapeño in a small dish. I gave a double shot of sriracha and two tablespoons of hoisin sauce-senior flare. I finished the bowl which proves that old people are hungry and have something to say about a good bowl of pho. Try at your own risk of course and if you are ready to expand your pho skills. Newbies to pho, go somewhere else (with knowledgeable friends). Establishment only takes cash, no credit card...
Read moreFood was great. Service was atrocious.
Arrived before a large group, they were served first. Wouldn't come to our table to order more dishes, drinks, dessert even after multiple attempts to wave her down/call her over. Didn't want to let me pay by card. first said they didn't take MasterCard even though my card was a visa, then said their systems were down, asked me to go to an ATM, finally said they would accept venmo, then after all this was upset I wouldn't tip. After multiple back and forths of her saying "price doesn't include tip" I finally included a tip. She said "only?" And walked away.
Theres no shortage of pho joints in the area. Leaving a 2 instead of 1 because the food was actually very good. But just order for pick up as it looks like that's what...
