Avoid This Restaurant -- Rude Owner, Dishonest Billing and Disappointing Food
This was one of the rudest dining experiences I've ever had -- worldwide!
When we arrived, we walked to the cashier's desk at the back of the restaurant and told the woman we were a party of four. Instead of politely asking us to wait, she shouted in my face to get out and wait outside. My husband wanted to leave immediately due to her attitude, but I convinced him to stay -- hoping the food might make up for it. I saw photos of this woman posing with various people on the wall, which I mistook as a sign of authenticity. I was wrong.
The food turned out to be mostly bland and forgettable. We marked 10 items on the dim sum order slip, but when the check arrived, I noticed a $20.98 charge for something we hadn't ordered. When I asked about it, the woman curtly explained that they gave us the dinner portion of MaPo Tofu instead of the dim sum size, which was $10.98 -- without informing us. I said we didn't order the dinner size. She pointed at my son, who was packing the leftover tofu, and snapped, "Don't pack the leftover!" We were speechless.
To make things worse, we later saw a 15% tip had been added to our credit card -- without our consent or signature.
This restaurant is a masterclass in how not to treat customers. Rude service, dishonest billing, and underwhelming food. Save yourself the frustration -- there are plenty of better Chinese restaurants in...

We came here for dim sum with a friend who lives closed to North Beach area. According to her, this restaurant has the best dim sum and most the locals come here for them.
This place is not pretentious and they are serious about making the best dim sum. The people here are very friendly and folksy. They provide excellent services.
Although the decors were desperately needing updates, the Dim Sums we had were HK level and they were delicious. Besides the usual dim sum items, they also make some nostalgic items such as fried Taro dumplings, water chestnut cakes, and thousand layer cakes.
The restaurant has another door next to the main entrance for take out orders. I saw a lot of people come by to order to-go dim sum.
Their dim sum prices are very reasonable ranging from a bit over $3 to $5 depending on the size ( not food size but cost). This price range is much cheaper than LA. The dim sum prices start at $5 a dish in LA.
Parking is mainly on the side streets but it’s easy find a...
Read moreThe first real Cantonese restaurant I've been to in San Francisco. The Dim sum does not come cheap averaging $4 each while the cooked noodles, meats and vegetable dishes were between $10-$15.
We ordered the Lobster Lo Mein Stir Fried Flat Noodles (w my black beans, onions and peppers) Salt n Pepper Squid Pork Flat Rice Roll Yeung Region Fried Rice Pumpkin in Blackbean Sauce
The service for the most part was very good as one of the waiters kept making sure we were on point. The other waiter seeing that one of the people in our group had a time restraint, helped us to get the majority of our foods in time.
Unfortunately the noodle and rice dishes were incredibly tasteless considering the amount of Block beans they used in two of the 5 dishes. I did find a long piece of hair tied up in the fried squid which I had to use my hands to untie and pull out.
All in all, not terrible but I would give them another chance. It is great for those who like their food more on the bland side and/or like to play with hair...
