A whole building of food for donation but they can’t make some premade bags for the homeless in the area to pick up? They have to send it all around the county so like one day a week for two hours people can scramble in? If you’re starving on Tuesday you’re just gonna have to wait for Thursday and reschedule your whole day so you can get some food to eat. I’m pretty sure they require verification of SF residency so if you’re homeless without an ID or an out of state ID you’re out of luck!

Seems more like they’re in it for $$$ than they are to feed people, otherwise they’d atleast have a small thing going here for people to get food. What’s the point in giving away food if it’s virtually inaccessible to those...

A great place to volunteer your time and energy to make sure food gets to those who may not otherwise have enough to eat.

Volunteering is easy if you're an individual or group--their online sign up is quick and fast, and their volunteer coordination in their warehouse is seasoned and efficient. Last weekend a group of ~50 of us sorted and packed 43,000 pounds of apples and pears for SF Unified School District in less than 3 hours! It was gratifying to know the impact of your effort at the end of shift. The volunteer coordinators played fun 90s music the whole time and us older kids would sometimes break out in song :-)

Couldn't cook dry pasta, etc. The actual infraction was that she was squatting farm labor style and sorting on the cement instead of table in snack area Early November
