To admit you like Taco Bell in San Francisco is akin to telling someone in that special, euphoric, post-coital moment that you forgot to say that you have an active herpes infection. The reaction is about the same.
That being said, I had always thought that Taco Bell was a good value. Inexpensive, different from other fast food, and fast. If not for the $1 bean burritos when I was in grad school, I would have had to go without eating. Instead, I slept with a full belly and left for class the next morning with an empty one.
Sadly, I can no longer say Taco Bell is a good value. A simple burrito supreme meal can set you back almost $15 with taxes. Which is about the same price as a super burrito at an authentic burrito shop in SF.
Also this particular branch is hella hella slow. Just the Taco Bell. Not KFC. This is not just one bad experience either. I frequently go during lunch, mid afternoon, and evening hours. When it's really busy and when it's really slow, like tonight.
When I arrived there were three customers eating at tables, two customers in line, and no delivery drivers waiting. I could see a total of 5 kitchen employees and could hear more in the back.
It took almost 20 minutes for me to get my order. They pushed out a total of 3 orders ahead of mine. On a slow, rainy night, with a fully staffed kitchen, it took almost 20 minutes to fill a simple order!!!
There have been days I thought I could stop in for a quick bite at lunch and the same thing happens. It takes so long that I've just left without getting my food.

I placed a mobile order only to arrive at the store and have them tell me they didn’t receive it. I showed the supervisor my order number from the app as well as the detailed order information that showed that I had placed the order and paid for it prior to coming to the restaurant. He refused to compensate me by remaking the prefer or giving me a refund by saying he needs a confirmation number in an email even though I showed it to him in the app. After an hour had passed and I found the email with the same order number from the Taco Bell app he finally found the order that had been sitting for an hour and tried serving it to me which I refused. They got mad that I had them to remake it so once it was remade one of the workers dropped it on the counter and walked away. Needless to say they have lost my respect and I will not continue...
Read moreThis place was actually pretty good, my overall experience was negative due in no small part to the f#*#ng Taco Bell App. It sent my order to the wrong location, had zero options to cancel and refused to let me order from the location that I had wanted the first time. The app refused to show the desired location on the map of nearby restaurants even though I was sitting in the parking lot of the Taco Bell in question and they absolutely participated in mobile pick Up. I had to use the "Contact Us" feedback form to request a refund for the order I never picked up and it has been over 24 hours since I contacted them and I have yet to hear back. I didn't even get an automated "your request has been submitted... Our staff will respond within ____days" emails. If they don't respond or remove the charges from my account, I will have to contact my bank and reverse the charges which can be a real pain. Definitely won't ever use the Taco Bell app...
