Mina Nails & Spa — Local services in San Francisco

To be totally honest I loved my nail set but they overcharge by including so many hidden fees even if you didn't receive the specified service. I was expecting to pay an average amount for a non-gel set but I was charged $105 even though the artist did NOT use gel colors. If I'm gonna be charged this enormous amount I wish they would provide something extra instead of rushing you to leave (other places like Princess nails in Daly City at least provide you with warm hand towel + quick hand massage before you leave for HALF the price). I just wanted to try something new and it didn't work out! Will not be coming back

Edit: I just happened to see the business's response to my review and it's filled with complete lies! They made claims that I asked for a pedicure which brought up the cost, but I never ever get pedicures anywhere, so this is entirely made up! I never called beforehand, I simply walked in after a long day at work. Additionally, they claimed that I agreed to a gel manicure beforehand when I never did. I even asked the register lady afterwards that I didn't get any gel colors so why was I getting charged those fees? While I was recently considering giving this business a second chance, I don't think I want to do business with people who willingly lie when fronted with valid criticism. I initially overlooked this salon (like for two years!) even though I passed by it a couple times a week. I tended to have my nails done only very infrequently and I thought I needed to spend a small fortune at a very high-end salon for beautiful work. I was wrong! I admit it. I started going regularly to Mina about four months ago after Caitlin gave me a flawless gel set that lasted for three weeks. Now I'm just hooked. The salon's owner runs the place with a software booking system that is easy to deal with for online appointments. She is calm, kind, and on top of everything. The place is clean and relaxing, and you're offered tea on arrival. The work has been largely impeccable: These people are professionals and they don't mess around. I'm writing this review with a set of beautiful nails that are just the right length for me - they are long and feminine, but I can still type! Caitlin and Johnny do flawless work with nails. Tracy's lash extensions are some of the best I've had anywhere: They last and last, and I get lots of compliments. They're always so kind and great at their work. They are usually able to accommodate a walk in with not too long a wait. No special add-ons like wine that others nearby do, but it keeps prices affordable so I can tip high instead. I trust their work and really appreciate their amazing staff no matter who I get!

*Knocking off one star because the last 3 times I've tried to make an appointment online I never received confirmation one way or the other. Last time that caused me to walk in the rain 15min just to be turned away for a 2hr wait (when it then started pouring and cut into happy hour plans) because they couldn't accommodate but didn't communicate that. They apologized but then today I also have not heard back so I'm stuck guessing that means I can't visit as planned but also had no alternatives offered. They also have a discounts points system but no clear instructions on how to use it (if you even can).
