If you are looking for an incredible and authentic Indian plus Nepali cuisine dining experience, stop scrolling and plan your visit to TASTE OF INDIA immediately. This place is an absolute culinary treasure and easily deserves five stars! The food here is the real star. Every dish we tried was rich, perfectly spiced, and tasted incredibly fresh. The depth of flavor in their curries is unmatched—you can genuinely taste the quality of the ingredients and the care that goes into the preparation. I highly recommend the Signature Dish Placeholder (e.g., Tandoori Salmon or Vegetable Korma) and definitely don't miss their fluffy, garlic-infused Naan. The portion sizes are generous, and the value is outstanding. Beyond the delicious meals, the service is truly impeccable. The staff is warm, genuinely friendly, and extremely attentive without being intrusive. They are happy to offer suggestions and ensure you have everything you need. The atmosphere is equally delightful; it's cozy, beautifully decorated with subtle Indian artistry, and offers the perfect setting for a casual dinner or a special...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this place because the place we wanted to go to had a ridiculous wait. We ordered lamb biryani, Navarna korma, mushroom matar, saag paneer, chili naan, and tandoori roti. Everything was delicious, tasted cleaner and lighter than most Indian food places we’ve been to. Not too sweet or too rich. Actually, it tasted like Indian home cooking, which is probably much more healthier than restaurant food, and more sustainable to eat on the regular. Also, the flavors were slightly different, but I couldn’t put my finger on it until the owner?/server mentioned that they are all Nepalese, and this is Nepalese food.
They’ve only been open for 3 months, new name, new management. Inside is quaint, cozy, no frills, perfect for a couple looking for an easy night to eat out. Great food, reasonably priced, attentive staff, food came out pretty fast. I think I have a new favorite Indian/Nepalese...
Read moreIn the mood for some good Indian food, a group of us decided to try Taste of India on West Portal. Despite its modest exterior, once inside we were greeted warmly and served quickly. At first, we were attracted by the lunch specials, both veg and non-veg, but when we saw the extensive menu, we decided to order à la carte. We had baigan bharta (eggplant), chana masala, pumpkin curry and lamb biryani, accompanied by raita, butter naan and roti. The food was absolutely delicious, and the servings, ample. Unfortunately, there was no room for dessert or lassi, which we would have loved to try. This is a great addition to West Portal if you're looking for fairly-priced, delicious Indian food in an unpretentious yet...
