The Salad Place & Rotisserie — Restaurant in San Francisco

2025 update. No line today at lunchtime. My salad was a Chef's Salad, one scoop of chicken salad and tuna salad with turkey, ham & cheese $17. This tasted OK. I usually get the pesto salad but I didn't see it. The scope of chicken salad was surprisingly good. I was a bit hungry still after eating this. Luckily I got a crepe down the block as a back-up in case I was still hungry.

Original review: The Salad Place makes good salads/sandwiches. They aren't as good as the other places in the city but this is Outer Mission. Healthy options are limited. For lunch I had their turkey sandwich on dutch crunch $12 + avocado $2.50 and a ceviche $9. Everything tasted fresh. On the sandwich, I would have preferred more avocado, other than iceberg lettuce and some sort of garlic or pesto sauce. This was good, but tasted plain. The ceviche was also good. I had an amazing experience at this place for the second time. The salads were incredibly fresh, with a wide variety of toppings and dressings to choose from, making it easy to customize exactly what I wanted. Each ingredient was crisp, flavorful, and obviously high quality, from the vibrant greens to the perfectly ripe avocados.

The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping customers make the best choices. Newly opened, was curious about the food since there aren't a lot of sandwich places in the neighborhood (no, Subway does not count).

Very nice staff, very clean looking place selection decent. Grabbed a Pastrami on rye bread and a medium pesto pasta salad. Nice melted Swiss cheese, pastrami is lean, has small kick, fresh lettuce and tomatoes, very tasty. Pesto pasta salad very good flavor, pesto not over powering. I didn't order drinks but may in a future visit. They have smoothies, espresso and so on, but Mexican bottled glass Coca-Cola, oh hells yeah!!!
