Summary: Excellent food and variety. Fair prices for SF. Small parking lot. Minimal dining area.
I came here lookin for a quick bite. I could have gone to McDonalds but I'm really tryna cut fast food out of my diet (even tho now and then I still have unhealthy foods and even fast food).
I go in and the menu is packed w/options. I was in the mood for fries so I got me a #6 which is half a chicken (leg, wing, thigh, breast), fries, and a soda, plus a churro. Ion even drink soda so i was like "coke is fine." My order was like $15.40 which I was really not tryna spend but I'm in the City and it's not McDonalds, so whatever.
I'm waiting and they're takin hella long. Must have been my churro. They probably just aint have any already made. They were giving Door Dashers and Post Mate-ys their orders and what not.
I finally get my food. They aint have the lil cups for ketchup so i popped my to-go box open and squirted some ketchup in the corner under the fries lol.
I'm leaving now and I realize the small parking lot is on a one-way street. Weren't any cars coming so I just did my stuff and cut a couple minutes off my trip back to the house.
Anyway I get home and bust the bag open... I tore it up, everybody. The meal came with four warm corn tortillas and a little thing of fresh tomato salsa (the chunks).
I reccomend eating there. If you wait too long, your food may get soggy and moist depending on what you got. My fries got soggy on the way back home and my tortillas kinda morphed together, but my chicken was FINE.
That sh*t was hella good,...

Missing (entire orders like an entire chicken meal) or even small sides or items. When asked about it, they said just get a refund (without asking to make it right). The chicken itself used to be delicious, but lately itās been too dry/overcooked.
Iāve been a big fan for over 5 years (before pandemic) and wish them well but honestly since then itās been slowly going downhill and hope they can change back to being amazing again. Lack of customer care and food not being as good as I used to.
If the owners really cared, Iāll give direct feedback and also work with them to try to improve. I love small businesses and really support them but itās maybe a training issue that needs...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst timer, I had kinda been looking for an El Pollo Loco, but the closest one is in Oakland. Nah, let's give this neighborhood joint a try. Took a look at prior reviews, seemed like a decent place. Walked in, short line. They have a small, accessible parking lot, which is better than trying to find street parking. I ordered 3pc chix combo, w/ beans & rice & soda. I also tried their garlic sauce, so about $14 total. Brought it home, made a plate for myself. Overall, pretty good. The chix might be a little dry, but the nice grilled flavor I think compensates for it. None of the accompaniments (tortillas, rice, beans, salsa) are outstanding, but they're good and serviceable. I did only pay $14, and I'm thinking I'll get 2 or 2.5 meals worth, so I'm happy with my purchase. Also, please tip if you can, these businesses that are open for us during these trying times. I think every...
