El Pollo Supremo could be hit or miss. This meal was a hit. Sometimes they overcook the chicken making it dry with overly burnt skin like the last few times I had it. This time I had their "fish & chix" $13.29. It was two pieces of chicken and a piece of fish. The chicken tasted great. Moist on the inside and flavorful skin. I'm not quite sure what made it "Cuban" but as I've never been to Cuba. It did taste like the chicken I had in the Dominican Republic. As for the fish piece, it was tilapia breaded in-house. It is not your British fish & chips breading but a more thin batter. It came with tarter sauce and malt vinegar! Instead of fries, I opted for onion rings without an additional charge. El Pollo Supremo is a good choice for large groups because of the variety of items on their menu. Counter service was excellent. Thank you staff at El Pollo Supremo.

Think of this as non-chain El Pollo Loco with more variety of food such as fish. I really like the no-frill feel of the place and when you pay for your meal they don't have the stupid tip amount most other restaurants do when you pay with credit card. The chicken is tender and reasonably priced. My main problems are 1. They need to develop some sauce for the chicken because the only sauce they have now is salsa which is not optimal for the chicken. The result of this is that I actually prefer El Pollo Loco over this place because of the choices of sauces. 2 Parking is ridiculously tiny (both in terms of availability and the size of each car stall. If they had peri peri sauce it would've been perfect. It's still worth going since there really isn't any El Pollo Loco nearby and I like the no-frill service and that tip is truly optional.

The food is usually good, but today was a disappointment. We had heard that some friends had gotten burnt chicken from here but today it was us. If it would have been one piece it would not have been a big deal, but half the pieces were burnt on one side. This was not a char, it was a layer of black burnt skin and meat. We live 20mins away and were so over it since this was our only dinner plan, that we did not have it in us to make the drive back to get it swapped. Ended up eating what we could and getting rid of the rest. What a disappointment. Make sure to check your chicken before you leave the store, or risk getting burnt chicken! (Our order was a Family pack meal- 8 piece chicken, rice and beans. The rice and beans were fine, just the chicken was a mess.)

Summary: Excellent food and variety. Fair prices for SF. Small parking lot. Minimal dining area.

I came here lookin for a quick bite. I could have gone to McDonalds but I'm really tryna cut fast food out of my diet (even tho now and then I still have unhealthy foods and even fast food).

I go in and the menu is packed w/options. I was in the mood for fries so I got me a #6 which is half a chicken (leg, wing, thigh, breast), fries, and a soda, plus a churro. Ion even drink soda so i was like "coke is fine." My order was like $15.40 which I was really not tryna spend but I'm in the City and it's not McDonalds, so whatever.

I'm waiting and they're takin hella long. Must have been my churro. They probably just aint have any already made. They were giving Door Dashers and Post Mate-ys their orders and what not.

I finally get my food. They aint have the lil cups for ketchup so i popped my to-go box open and squirted some ketchup in the corner under the fries lol.

I'm leaving now and I realize the small parking lot is on a one-way street. Weren't any cars coming so I just did my stuff and cut a couple minutes off my trip back to the house.

Anyway I get home and bust the bag open... I tore it up, everybody. The meal came with four warm corn tortillas and a little thing of fresh tomato salsa (the chunks).

I reccomend eating there. If you wait too long, your food may get soggy and moist depending on what you got. My fries got soggy on the way back home and my tortillas kinda morphed together, but my chicken was FINE.

That sh*t was hella good,...

Honestly it used to taste better but the service and the food quality is why this business needs to change or doesn’t deserve your business. We ordered now several times from them and issues are:

Missing (entire orders like an entire chicken meal) or even small sides or items. When asked about it, they said just get a refund (without asking to make it right). The chicken itself used to be delicious, but lately it’s been too dry/overcooked.

I’ve been a big fan for over 5 years (before pandemic) and wish them well but honestly since then it’s been slowly going downhill and hope they can change back to being amazing again. Lack of customer care and food not being as good as I used to.

If the owners really cared, I’ll give direct feedback and also work with them to try to improve. I love small businesses and really support them but it’s maybe a training issue that needs...

First timer, I had kinda been looking for an El Pollo Loco, but the closest one is in Oakland. Nah, let's give this neighborhood joint a try. Took a look at prior reviews, seemed like a decent place. Walked in, short line. They have a small, accessible parking lot, which is better than trying to find street parking. I ordered 3pc chix combo, w/ beans & rice & soda. I also tried their garlic sauce, so about $14 total. Brought it home, made a plate for myself. Overall, pretty good. The chix might be a little dry, but the nice grilled flavor I think compensates for it. None of the accompaniments (tortillas, rice, beans, salsa) are outstanding, but they're good and serviceable. I did only pay $14, and I'm thinking I'll get 2 or 2.5 meals worth, so I'm happy with my purchase. Also, please tip if you can, these businesses that are open for us during these trying times. I think every...
