D'ange Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in San Gabriel

Great bakery tucked away in a small trip mall on Las Tunas and Mission. Although small, the baked goods are so good here. They are also very creative with their pastries. This is the only shop I can find gigantic pineapple buns. One of the bun here equals to probable 4 to 5 regular buns that you would typically find at dim sum.

They can also custom made cakes from 6 inch to whatever sizes you want with various different flavors and designs. We just ordered a 6 in chestnut cake with rose flower decoration for my mom's birthday. Order was done efficiently and timely. We ordered the cake one day before and was able to pick it up by next morning.

I also like their Chinese pastries. One of my favorites is their Portuguese egg tart or Pastéis de Nata as they called the Custer in Portugal. The skin is so crispy and the egg tart filling tasted so good. I just can't stop eating them. Probably I have to run a couple of miles the next day to burn off the calories.

If you’re tired of going to banal franchised bakeries and in the market for a more authentic pastries. Well look no further because D’ange Bakery is the place to be. D’ange Bakery is a small bakery/pastry and coffee shop located in a small plaza on Las Tunas drive and Mission drive in SG valley. Interior design and atmosphere were modest. I perused around and they have a wide selection of cakes and pastries that surely your palate will enjoy. You can opine about the authenticity of some pastry shops but D’ange bakery make some of the best pastries by far. They incorporate unique flavors like taro, purple yam, lychee and black sesame. But their store offers more than luxurious slices of cake; you'll also find individually wrapped Danish breads, pineapple buns, ham and cheese croissants and tiramisu. I ordered their Cream Cheese Danish and Blueberry Danish breads. They were soft, creamy, fresh and fluffy. Prices were fair and affordable. Staff were amiable, competent and followed health protocol. Went in to get some pastries today, service is good just like I remembered. They still offer free samples upon ur entry But now the store has random stuff stored everywhere, giving it a very messy unkempt vibe. The store was also extremely hot, and rather uncomfortable to stay in. Picked out a ham and cheese croissant and cream cheese danish from the front counter. My friend told me as I was getting rung up that she saw flies flying around and landing on some of the bread loafs behind the counter, and that the lady quickly swat it away while packing my breads. It was too late to say I didn’t want the bread but now I feel a bit grossed out by it. Maybe if they enclosed their counter or put some sorta of covers on the pastries so flies can’t get on them.
