Went to this restaurant this afternoon with my parents, we sit down like 10-15mins, no one help us taking the order, we try to call someone to order for us, but no one saw us waving at them, later finally someone came to take our order, who was wearing black polo shirt, we ordered 3 items which are chicken curry and #78 steamed chicken (half)with green onion and lastly #83 pork chop w/ Peking sauce. Everything came really quick like the steam chicken and the curry chicken, we started eating them, my mom hasn't barely eaten anything, she was still waiting for her pork chop with rice, like 15mins later we asked a woman who's wearing wear shirt ,we are still waiting for the pork chop, she answered it takes time to cook it, then after 20mins we asked that guy who took our order, he was like talking loud like we are annoying, he said the same thing it takes time to cook it , how the hell it takes like 40mins to cook a pork chop? , we waited another 10mins, we asked a guy who's wear white shirt, he checked for us on the pos system and came back to us, told us the order didn't put in, and asked us if we still want it or not. We said no and ask for our bill, we waited 5mins no bill came, and we asked the guy who helped us order for the bill and we told him you didn't put in the order, he just shakes his head and walked away without apology or doing something for our bill like take 10% off. We saw the bill there was three lemon black tea, but we only ordered two. After all the management is so bad, good luck with the yelp review rating and probably we won't be back for...
Read moreI'm born and raised CBC in Vancouver, Canada and the Cantonese food there is STELLAR. So that's my benchmark for quality and taste.
I ordered 乾炒牛河, 苦瓜牛肉 and 皮蛋瘦肉粥.
The beef ho fun: my first words after taking the first bite were "it has a non offensive taste" lol. The wok hei could've been stronger and the seasoning was lacking. All beef pieces were soft though!!! I ordered takeout so when I got home, I stir fried the noodles with more dark soy sauce and it tasted a bit better. ⭐⭐⭐
The century egg/pork congee: the presentation was really nostalgic with chopped green onion and wonton crisps on top. The congee also needed more salt/flavour. The consistency was good though. Not too thick or thin. ⭐⭐⭐
Beef & bitter melon: it's nice that it came with rice! The bitter melon was a bit overcooked but honestly I prefer that than undercooked bitter melon (iykyk). Overall the taste was actually flavourful! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Parking: I went at 9:30pm and it was still busy with cars but I still found a spot! The layout is a bit cramped but not bad at all ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Prices: super fair! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Service; curt and efficient. Truly Cantonese lol ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Restaurant atmosphere: the inside is big! And there was tons of Cantonese folks I saw there, speaking Cantonese and having a good time. That was lovely to see. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Overall, maybe I'll try visiting again and dine-in. The food might taste better. I might come earlier in...
Read moreI only had one chow fun dish, so I can't speak about anything else, but it was very good. The atmosphere, a little less. I was extremely unimpressed with the service. Host greeted the people behind me before greeting me. He seated them first, as well. He took me to my table where I sat for several minutes before someone showed up to take my order. This was AFTER using the restroom and coming back to the table. At least the food showed up quickly and looked and tasted like what I would expect. One thing I don't understand is why a restaurant like this would NOT have a soda fountain instead of canned sodas. SO much better deal for the restaurant. And they can actually offer refills without breaking the bank or charging $4 for a 12oz can. Not this place. I had a $4 Diet Coke with no refills. The restroom wasn't great either. After finishing my meal, I sat ignored by all the staff rushing by, despite the fact that my table was right outside the kitchen. I finally flagged someone down to get my check over an hour after I had placed my order. I dropped cash and walked out. I doubt I'll...
